Something I REALLY shouldn't have left out of the script was that I obviously love comic books! When Logan throws them like they're trash media for children, I'm not saying he's right to do that. Just that in his own world from which these stories have been crafted, the adventures weren't fun entertainment. But from Laura's perspective, sometimes life can get so hard that we need some fun entertainment. As Charles says in that same scene, "I don't think Laura needs reminding of life's impermanance." Especially in "these uncertain times" we need some escapist entertainment to keep sane. Comics are great! Superhero action blockbusters are great escapes! Not everything needs to be dark and gritty like LOGAN. I feel silly that I didn't include all this in the video. In the past, I've talked about the violence in Logan, and even this specific scene with the comics, but those videos are very bad. So I made this one as a kind of redemption arc for myself, comparing where I was to where I am now. And I still found stuff I would change already, haha. Anyway, thanks to everyone for watching! I love the X-Men films, and I love you! ❤️

@Burner-B4 жыл бұрын
The scenes in that movie that got me the most has to be a twoparter: First when Xavier dies. The moment of emotional honesty he has when talking to X24 is allready a gutpunch, but when je then gets stabbed: first the look of elation when he X24 first reaches out ('he accepts'), then the shock of the pain, with first sadness and then acceptance: in my mind he dies thinking that was Logan, and accepting his death as a punishment he feels he deserves..... Then that scene where they bury him. And that look on Logan's face: 'I don't cry.... I don't cry.... I...DO NOT.... CRY' followed by an anger at himself for breaking, illustrating the depth of grief, the age that he stems from and how truely broken and spent he is.... So very recognisable... Those two scenes combined are the reason I havent seen it since the one time I saw it in its first week in theaters.

It always breaks my heart when you compare Xavier’s 2 funerals. The first, while cliché, is what a man like him deserved. Dozens of loved ones paying respect to a man who worked so hard to help people and change the world. But in Logan... he’s just buried in the woods... no grave... no masses... just a man and his his daughter mourning the best of their kind. It’s tragic.

I started reading comics in the '60's. Me and my friends were big into comics, some of them even became "pros" in the industry. Thing is, looking back, a lot of times when we 'talked comics', I think we were talking about life, without knowing it. Plus then I got married, and in '85 my view of the world changed, literally I suddenly cared about nuclear war (not just the card game) as I looked at the image of my first child, as yet unborn. Then a couple of years later I looked at my massive file (box) at the comic shop, and looked at my newborn, and decided it was time for me to adjust my spending. Now I go to the comic store with my kids and grand kids. And I also use the internet to see what's going on in comics. And thus I found NerdSync, and Scott. And frankly sir, even though I may have disagreed with you once or twice (probably, don't remember,) I'm still subscribed and I don't think you've ever said, done, something you need to apologize for. As always, sincerely, I really do mean it when I say, thank you so very much for all your observations, your efforts, (your singing when that's happened) and your video. I really is very much appreciated, and you're doing a great job.
