FYI the idea of Iron Man 4 just being Iron Man 2 immediately made me think of Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2, where the distributors wanted a sequel put didn’t want to give the studio money to *make* a sequel so half of the movie is literally just a cut down edit of the first movie

I think the funniest thing about this video (other than people thinking a simple promt in an AI generator is going to produce anything of quality (and Davy Joones)), is that they said Pirates of the Caribbean was a Warner Bros. movie. What's worse, is I can't tell if they were joking.

To uh clear things up a bit, the Nakba is what the name of the horrible genocide was Sabra (coming from Tzabar (צבר) in hebrew) is a term for a native Israeli who's like... Really Israeli, like the most Israeli Israeli. Sorta. Doesn't even have to be a native Israeli tbh But like her comic is kinda... Really terrible and racist if I understood it right, and her whole character is kind of a glorification of the IDF, Mossad, and Israel, and is basically built on putting down, simplifying, and mischaracterising the genuine struggle of Palestinians, and it's like... To make an easy cultural example it's like making out a CIA agent to be the hero symbolising America, and also that's the CIA agent who was directly involved in trying to overthrow Castro's rule in Cuba among some other things, and the villains are the villainous Cubans

Hey Nerdsync! Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your in depth look into comics and marvel history. I rewatch the same videos multiple times a year, especially your Steve Ditko video! To this day I collect comics with his collage art on the cover because of your video. My fiance and I make our own 60's and 70's collage art as well use the same period pieces he used during his time. Because of you I have discovered somthing I love that I would have never found otherwise. Thank you for your great videos and I hope you enjoy making them as much as I love watching them. P.S. As a huge Spider-Man fan I love every Spider-Man video you have made and I hope you make more in depth looks into vintage comics and the stories behind the stories (preferably spiderman lol)

Relative to the effort they would have to put to actually make something original? Yeah, they think it's good enough to upload. These "fake trailers" only need to be good enough to fool a small section of people into clearing ad revenue and maybe share it to someone that's similarly gullible and/or uninformed.
@tompotter87033 ай бұрын
And it’s been done for years too, just taking random clips from random media to try and make a prospective viewer think that a movie is being made, when in reality it’s just a project. It’s just beforehand they couldn’t make too much use of VFX shots since they would be too recognisable (not that it would be easy to tell if a generated video has been lifted from something else).
@selahanany56453 ай бұрын
16:11 I think you are referring to the Sabra and Shatilla massacre, which was a massacre of lebanese people in the Sabra neighbourhood and Shatila refugee camp(The people in the refugee camp were indeed mainly palestinians). That makes the hero name indeed in *very* bad taste, especially now, although the hero isnt a reference to this, she preceeds the massacre in fact. The name 'Sabra' is simply the name for the fruit of the Cactus, which israelis have used as a name for a 'native Israeli'(the fruit being spiky on the outside and soft on the inside)

Glad to see you taking a stance on Palestine. A lot of creators tend to shy away from these topics or vocally support Israel so I appreciate your directness on the matter.
@allymofo23323 ай бұрын
there’s some misinformation about the whole sabra thing. i was also rlly upset when i first heard about it but basically they’re fully scrapping her character from the comics and even changing her name. she’s no longer Israel’s captain america, now she’s just an israeli woman who was abducted by the redroom like natasha. basically she’s just a jewish black widow, which is fine ig, at this point she’s just an original character and no longer has any links to the IDF
@kenji64923 ай бұрын
I think people also have issues with the politics of the person playing the character. Either way regardless of what’s being done on screen bringing the character into the fold given current circumstances is incredibly tone deaf.
@allymofo23323 ай бұрын
@@kenji6492 i feel like the decision to bring her into the mcu was definitely made prior to october 7, just bc of how long the movie has been in production. but i think when they realized what a bad idea it was they fully scrapped the problematic aspects of the character. that said i also don’t know anything about the actress herself
@kenji64923 ай бұрын
@@allymofo2332 I guess that’s fair, but given the other hard pivots at Marvel in the past few months (cough Kang cough) maybe the decision could’ve been made to just scrap that inclusion entirely.
@albericponcedeleon26963 ай бұрын
Imo scrapping so much of the character is a bad thing and symptomatic of Marvel getting sucked into the current "big corporate culture", no longer being "The House of Ideas". Firstly for narrative reasons, I will always object to the "in name only" adaptations. Secondly, Captain America is inherently a politically charged character. This is the appropriate place to make commentary on Israel / Palestine. Playing it safe and avoiding any sort of stance (regardless of if I would agree w/ it) is a cowardly decision. Stand on business, ten toes down.
@allymofo23323 ай бұрын
@@albericponcedeleon2696 well that’s the thing, she isn’t even “in name only” they changed her damn name. but also while agree that the movie should have a lot of political commentary, having a super soldier for the IDF who mass murders palestinians being seen as a hero isn’t exactly good commentary
