It actually annoys me when I find faults like this, basic checks are all that’s needed. These kind of faults are what give the trade I work in a bad name.

The first person to use logic always finds the fault. Tooooo many wannabeee mechanics with a folder full of qualifications and no logic, and not their fault. What chance has the apprentice got when the master is exactly the same. Just guesses based on other guesses. Seen this exact problem of wire joints failing or rotting on everything from audi to vw and everything between. Excellent work bro, just subscribed to your transmissions.

Uncanny this. I have same vehicle in now with same fault codes and similar cause. Only getting 4v instead of 12v at supply pin. Customer not sure if he wants me to hunt for the damaged wire due time involved and the fact that DPF is now blocked from driving it for months with EML on! Think this could be a common issue on these cars. Direct 12v feed to the MAF as you did has it working correctly.

Unless it is all verified , how can they expect it to be fixed ? Just some information : Diagnose Dan had put a Aftermarket MAF sensor on a car . He then checked it with a scope . He then put a OEM on and checked it . The Aftermarket was OFF by ONE THIRD ! Nice diagnosis and fix !

Don't these naturally throw an AFM code when there are EGR faults? I believe at least the case is true with transits when you blank the EGR. Great job though. More patience than me.

I use Autodata, Alldata and HGS data. I prefer HGS but can’t always get diagrams I need. It’s like scan tools, no one is good at everything.

so your not meant to just throw parts at it lol. surprised they didnt change the egr valve aswell since the fault was there for that. Think alot of garages take the diagnostic scan data too literally and assume its the part at fault when it could be something else even as simple as a fuse. Where about's are you based?
