VOLVO XC / AWD system main problems.

Hello, thank you. 2008 XC90 AWD 3.2. When I turn the rear drive shaft there is several degrees of play coming from the Angle Gear. Vertical and Horizontal movement is none (near the rear shaft opening) indicating the carrier bearings are ok. My problem must be in the pinion gears themselves or the bevel gear splines correct?? Both front CV axles have been replaced. Note: when trans gears down (3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st) there is a clunk sound-also present switching from drive to reverse and back. I can also rock the vehicle back and forth slightly when parked and engine off. Any advice you can give me?

Several degrees is ok, if there is no any sounds.

Is this the collar sleeve on the angle gear?I have a vibration on a v70xc awd and ringing sound from the propeler shaft centar bearing and the rubber that holds the bearing,so I'm wondering ifthe ringing sound may come from this part that you showed in the video?

Clinc Clinc is the agle gear connector problem, it goes "freely" inside (the teeth)you need to change a connector or refubish the angle gear teeth.and ,also, when you repairing the gear, you need to adjust the "pair" (hypoid).otherwise your angle gear will be out of order soon.
