Thank you for watching! I hope that you are having a fantastic week! Have you considered joining a country club? Are you already a member? Do you think it's worthwhile to join?

My family belonged to a country club when I was growing up and I have fond memories of participating in the activities and events there. My husband and I are relocating to a different state within the next few months and we are considering joining a country club there. My husband is an avid golfer and I think it would be well worth the investment. There are multiple country clubs in our new area and initiation fees and monthly dues vary quite a bit from club to club. Some of the clubs require that new members have letters of reference or sponsorship from existing club members which is challenging as we do not have an established network out there yet.

@@meredithmorris909 so happy to hear about your fond memories growing up. We think about that for potential future children. That’s great to have some options in your new town. Best of luck for finding a reference! We started with co-workers but would have moved on to neighbors from there if that didn’t work out. 💗

My best memories of childhood are from being at country clubs, our family was a member of a few. If you're ever in Kenya, visit my favourite one in Nairobi called the #KarenCountryClub. I believe they have a KZbin channel; very glamorous, beautiful place to relax.

Joining a country club has been on the forefront of my mind lately. I work as a biologist right now, and one of the partners of the company I work for is a country club. I visit several times a week to discuss the flora and fauna of their grounds (also they let me golf for free lol). They are amazing for wanting to support and increase the local wildlife. I’m preparing to move into a different role (biodata) in my company. Once I get that promotion, I’d love to join one. Thanks for talking about your experience!

Before I got married, I was a member of an art museum. It was very social, I joined for a lot of the same reasons. I want to re-join at a higher level next year.

That's a great idea since I'm not interested in joining a golf club. I guess if it's interesting and fun, that would be a great membership to join.

We are thinking about doing this in the next year with an upcoming move. My 7 year old son is learning golf, and my husband plays. The kids do swimming, and think it might be a good way to meet other families with similar interests.

I was part of a country club for a bit over a year, we left because I noticed a lot of members had substance abuse issues with alcohol and the club environment facilitated this. Some pros were my husband was able to play in a tournament in LA he has dreamt of playing in.
@LeishaLevelingUp3 жыл бұрын
That could be a downside for sure! Really interesting that the environment facilitated those things. When the cons outweigh the pros it’s definitely time to move on. Thanks for sharing tour experience!

I’m not a member of a club as of now, but when I lived in Nigeria, I had friends that belonged to certain clubs and the caliber of people there were like OMG😮, powerful people. So, I agree with this video, joining a club (or country club) is worth it. Your network is your net-worth.

You made a lot of good points, great video Leisha, thank you. My husband also loves to golf but unfortunately the town we are living in at the moment for his work has no clubs, however we very much look forward to joining one once we live in a bigger city.

That is amazing. I had no idea that country clubs allowed black people there. I thought country clubs are for rich white people or a rich white thing. Are there a lot of minorities in country clubs? If no, do you feel left out of place? I know there are a lot of rich black folks, I’m not one of them, but do they actually like country clubs or do their own thing? I’m just curious is all. Do they treat you well there? Or is it just money at the end of the day; meaning, they can careless about your race as long as you have the money for something like this?

Thank you for sharing your insights! A lot of what you said resonated with me. For my husband and I, we are considering joining a club to meet others. We moved from across the country and it’s been hard to find other young families with similar interests. I also like the idea of being able to host there as it’s a lot easier than hosting at home sometimes. We also live in a resort area with lots of great golf. I was hesitant to join because I didn’t want to be beholden to golfing at one place when there’s so many great courses. That said I think we will try joining as social members first. That membership allows you to golf 6 times/year. That way my husband can still play at other courses and we won’t feel like we’re wasting money.

Hi Carolyn! That is exactly the approach I would take to it. We went all in on the full because we have limited options where we live and my husband is a golf fanatic!

Greens fees are included with our full membership so it’s not paid by round. If a full member walks there are no extra fees. There is a cart fee at our club for all members. Thanks for watching!

Do you have to pay additional fees for each T time or when working with a personal trainer ? Or is that in included in the dues?
@LeishaLevelingUp3 жыл бұрын
Regular access to the facilities and group fitness classes is included. Personal trainer and spa services are extra cost that we add onto our account when used.
@lion2097 Жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you just state the price after such a lovely presentation?
@LeishaLevelingUp Жыл бұрын
Mostly because prices fluctuate and change year after year. Initiation and dues have changed substantially at our club since we joined for example so for longevity purposes of this content I left it out. It’s best to get quotes from the clubs in your area as the location will also impact your cost. Additionally, no one needs to know how much we personally spent because everyone has their own definition of value depending on where they are in life. You have to do your own cost-benefit analysis based on the CC you are interested in being a part of.

Would it be strange to join a country club as a single female? I know that a lot of people in the comments section are married so I thought it would be good to ask.
@LeishaLevelingUp2 жыл бұрын
No not at all! There are also clubs that offer “social memberships” if you just want to get a taste. I know for a fact there are single women enjoying the country club life to the fullest! 💗

Depends on the club, for traditional clubs single females may only be members if they are widows of a member who has passed away.

I have to mention (and I hope you do not get offended), when I first started watching your videos I found them quite boring and I don’t know why, HOWEVER, I have noticed a huge difference in the way that you talk, it’s way nicer to watch your videos now and you seem more elegant. Any changes you have been making DO show, so keep it up!

Hi thank you for noticing. I am not offended at all even though the way I speak has been a hurdle for me throughout life. I am not where I want to be yet, but as I made more videos I wanted to really work on that. I am native to the South and for some reason growing up I was very embarrassed of my accent. Now I embrace it more, but try to make sure I focus on improving how I structure sentences and select vocabulary. 🙂

My wife and I are looking into joining a country club. The only thing is that I can only bring the same person to play 9 times. Is there a looppole around this from your experience
@LeishaLevelingUp3 жыл бұрын
HI! Great question. I think it depends on the club. They typically keep this rule to encourage people who want to play more to join and keep the tee sheet open for everyone to get in adequate play. You might be able to network with other members who would like having your guest on as their own guest so this person could technically play the course more than 9 times per year. Or look for a club that has a higher allowance but this is a typical guest play limit for non-immediate family members in our area from what my husband says.

So many people these days have really strained voices, listening to yours is a great welcome relief. You could speak with more volume and strength if you wanted to as well, without it going into that horrible screechy tone that is so common these days. I am guessing people spend not enough time talking, the world has gotten louder and faster, and they are not doing any voice training, plus watching social media and online entertainment I guess there is a lot of screeching and high pitched voices and shouting therefore tense, tight, grating, voices have become the norm.

Joining a club is certainly not necessary to overall enjoyment and success in life, but it is an excellent addition to life! Especially for those who enjoy golf, tennis, swim, fitness, spa, or other club activities and want to enjoy it at a more refined level.
