To me a whole year without alcohol sounds amazing... god given. The question is do I see myself sober for a year. No. So I’ll stick to just today. Hopefully I can have 365 days of just today 😊🙏🏿

Just passed the 1 year mark of being sober, It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. If I knew it was not as hard as this, I would have done this a long time ago. My sleep is much better, I used to have night terrors ( wake up with heart palpitations). This was terrifying and some nights I would get no sleep at all. I don't miss the guilty feelings, the hangovers, the embarrassing things I've done. The loss of money, the damage to my organs and brain. The list gets longer and longer all the time. I think stopping drinking will become more and more socially acceptable, much like quiting smoking is now...it will become the trendy fashion thing to do soon. Lol Well done for kicking this habit!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts Anthony, I really appreciate this. Well done you on one year of freedom, it feels amazing doesn't it! Gosh, I can relate to what you say so much and don't miss any of those things either. Keep going on this wonderful journey xx

I love alcohol but the day after blues were getting worse.. I literally hid in a room consumed by feelings utter hopelessness and despair. This went on for at least a week and I tried to take those feelings away by drinking more.... I still crave it I really do but the benefits of sobriety get you through and videos like this really help ✌️✌️
@SoberBliss3 жыл бұрын
I am so happy you have found a way out of those dark times, there is nothing worse than the feelings you describe. There is hope and light. Hold onto the feelings that come with the benefits. Keep watching, reading and listening to as much as you can to help you. You can do this xx

Hi Gayle! Just finished watching this and your honesty resonated with me. I'm on day 29 of being alcohol free and feel a 1000 times better than when I was drinking. People have noticed that I look brighter , fresher and that I've lost weight. (Almost 2 stones!!). And I'm still relatively at the beginning of my sober journey. I congratulate you and thank you for sharing!!

Well done Sheldon, this is amazing progress and it's wonderful hearing how good you feel. I truly believe it is how we feel inside that counts. Thank you so much for watching the video and sharing your thoughts, I really do appreciate you. Keep up your amazing work, you have got this xx

I’m 1 year, 13 days separated from my quit date. Don’t ever get discouraged by all of the mini-quitting/relapse cycles. You are practicing for when non-consumption will be your new normal. Scientific research has shown that people who “try” to quit smoking a bunch of times are more successful in actually quitting than those who don’t have the history of failed attempts. It is the same with alcohol.

I've been drinking 1 or more bottles of wine for several days in a row, and I don't get sick as I walk a lot, get plenty of sun and eat healthy. The problem is waking up foggy headed and having a lot of leaky gut issues. I walk a lot barefoot and squat in nature when I poop, so bowel movements are not an issue, but half the time it's the quality/solidity of the poops you're taking. Also, I know alcohol makes you more depressed, though maybe temporarily more happy, but with highs there are lows. What goes up must come down. You should find replacements when you feel tempted. Instead of drinking, do some pushups or go for a long walk. Thank you for your testimony.

Great video! I just hit a year on December 12, 2020. I was unhappy with how I was using alcohol as an escape from stress. I would come home and immediately go for beer. Physically, I’ve noticed I have so much more energy and sleep better like you did. Emotionally, I’ve learned healthy ways to cope with stress. I’m going to continue staying sober because I don’t miss alcohol at this point and the benefits are too good to give up. I hope you’re still doing well!
@SoberBliss3 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on one year of alcohol-free living, that's awesome! I love it that you are enjoying so many benefits too and finding healthier ways to cope, it makes all the difference when we can truly do what feels good for us. So glad to hear you are continuing on this path, huge well done. All is well here, thank you so much, just about to hit 1000 days as I write! Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it xx

That is a real key there. When you wake up and say, ´´Goddamn, I am so glad I did not drink last night!´´ You will say that every morning. I save the yoga for the afternoon usually. I can meditate in the morning but the thought of busting out a hardcore Ashtanga sesh upon waking is a bit much!
@SoberBliss3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And, I see what you mean about leaving the yoga until the afternoon - what a great routine you have xx

Thx, I'm coming up on a year sober and waffling between continuing sobriety and moderation your video helped me get closer to accepting where I need to be which is sober. Sober for me and sober for my teenage son. Stopping the destructive family alcohol cycle here.

Time. That is the scary part. The endless stinking hot days of nothing. Living in a tiny flat, no family, no pets, no job, no more volunteer work thanks to covid, and too old & fat for yoga. It separates day from night. The sleep sounds divine! That's incentive enough for me.
@SoberBliss3 жыл бұрын
Good sleep is such a lovely blessing. Don't write anything off and we are never 'too anything' to try something new... xx
@ananda_miaoyin3 жыл бұрын
You are NEVER too old or fat for yoga. We do yoga so we can meditate. We meditate because we seek liberation. That is the discipline. Getting straight with drugs is a huge step towards liberation.
