Thank you so much. I had my AC refilled at a Honda garage, and they told me "it should work" and it doesn't. Being able to identity which pulley is the aircon pulley and being able to diagnose helps me a ton to assess whether it's gonna be an expensive fix -- or if I can avoid wasting the garage's time. I'll try it tomorrow and see whether I'm in for a bill or not 😂

Thanks for the video, I actually checked the relais and the fuse as the first two things when the ac stopped working but the fuse was fine and the relais was clicking so I expected it to work. Turns out that even if it was clicking it was not making proper contact. I opened it and cleaned up the contacts with some sandpaper and now it works.. so for anyone reading this you might be able to to the same.. Ofc the proper way to fix the problem is to replace it BUt as a temporary solution it may work for a while.

I wish all AC repairs were that easy. On my MK4 Astra I had to replace both the compressor and condenser and once it had been recharged it was fine. On my Citroen C4 Grand Picasso I had the system recharged only to find out that the condenser was leaking so I fitted a brand new one. I damaged the end of the high pressure line from the condenser to the evaporator so I replaced it with a good used part along with new O rings. It was recharged nearly 2 weeks ago and it has been fine ever since.

Hi, any dangers of making a tap on that relay ? My aircon starts for few seconds when I start the car and then shut's down for all the rest trip. Some mechanics said, that I need to change pressure sensor. Also an external temp sensor (this failed recently, but aircon failed earlier). I would like to test this method if it won't damage my probably good relay.
@OneAuto6 жыл бұрын
Just a light tap as demonstrated won’t hurt it. You may have other problems causing it not to work but this is a common problem. If unsure take it to your local A/C specialist

Well, the tapping didn't work. Yes, probably i should find specialist, that specialises only in A/C. The one i took to said I need to change outside temperature sensor and AC pressure sensor. Well the outside sensor is working now and AC still isn‘t. There still is that pressure sensor..

But in Summer it will work for hundreds of km's but the minute I hit Traffic, it goes off just when you need it most. I have changed the relay made no difference. I am thinking there might be a heat sensor on the AC pump that is faulty or the Clutch won't engage when it warms up as it cycles fine until you get into Traffic. Any Idea's anyone, Take a shim out of the Clutch or is it maybe not getting enough power to pull the Clutch in when it's hot? Honda spares prices are scary in our neck of the woods.
