Reason Nong-O is such a dominant champ is because of his fight IQ. He has an answer for all adversities. When the opponent is on the outside and he has trouble handling him, he starts piecing up his legs to stop the opponents movement. If the opponent has good head movement and Nong-O finds trouble hitting his chin, he starts going for the body. He adapts to everything.

Absolutely. His fight IQ is one of the greatest weapons he has. A true Muay Femur that has a very well balanced arsenal. Not to mention, the amount of experience that he has as well. The man has just about seen everything you can offer to him in the ring. Great match from both men!

my fav thing about nong-o is his toughness, he can take hits as hard as he deals, but no one can hit like him so he wont lose. the problem with these on-the-move, bounce-around fighters is that they usually run out of gas in the 3rd round, and no matter how good you are the more fatigued you are the harder it is to fight effectively

Alaverdi is still one of the most exciting fighters to watch in ONE FC with his almost karate like style. He uses his height advantage to the max. What is more exciting however is how people that defeat him overcome this problem. Fighting a guy with such a reach is always hard no matter who you are. Nong-O did such a fantastic job

This reminds me of the fight between Joseph Valtellini Vs Raymond Daniels. When you rely on dynamic movement and lack (solid) fundamentals. Once that movement gets taken away, you're bang in trouble. And it always normally gets taken away. No one can move like that for a whole fight when getting leg kicked and shots to the body. Eventually, it always takes it's toll. When you have fundamentals like Nong-O you can have faith in your I.Q & defence and you'll have more in the gas tank in the later rounds. I have seen this time and time again in so many fights. Jumping around, switch hitting, being fancy. Works until it doesn't work!
