Looking over the fact that Aoki was very passive throughout the whole bout and was merely reacting to Ruotolo's advances, it's nothing short of amazing that he successfully defended against the majority of Ruotolo's submission attempts, and had it not been a proper submissions grappling match, it would've more or less served as a masterclass for grapple escapes.

Not really. Strongest fighters are like in there early 30s. A man's prime is actually his early 30s
@mmaisking12 жыл бұрын
@@n0simpathy304 I don't think that's true. The only thing that is better after 30 is strength, but fighting is more than strength. After 30 you lose speed, reflexes, flexibility, cardio, your chin and you're prone to damage and slower recovery. I believe a man's true physical prime is 23-28

I know jiu jitsu hasn't been in a cage very long but I think any fence grab in any combat sport should be an instant point deduction. Only because a guy can time his fence grab perfectly to change momentum. Idk I just find fence grabbing a little dirty and a smarter fighter would use it at the right time to get out of a bad spot as seen in this video Kade took the back and Shinya grabbed the fence to slow the takedown if it wasnt Kade ruotolo Shinya would of easily used that moment to get in a different position

Age matters. It’s a cold fact. But I think there is a development coming that will allow older grapplers to Still be dominate. Look at Gordon’s style. There is no athletics, or explosiveness in his game. He can do that style till he’s 45. I just think as you get older your fundamentals have to be spot on to counter the aggression. I think roger could come back right now and be dominate if he focused on the leg locks for no GI.

I think they should get Kevin Lloyd to compete against Kade Ruotolo. Yes he is a pro wrestler but just like Shinya he is also a LEGIT catch wrestler(shooto was started by a pro wrestler who was trained by $HOOT STYLE/LEGIT catch wrestler Karl Gotch). But he also knows bjj(he won a bronze medal at ADVANCED LEVEL at 2022 Empire Grappling) and freestyle wrestling(his only match he lost BY POINT NEVER BY PIN), and even done MMA. With the OLD FASHIONED open palm fighting at Jigoku Grand Prix. At Jigoku they called it Pancrase fighting. But of course I don't think Kevin Lloyd would want to go to Singapore. Maybe go to UK. By the way He is not just a legit catch wrestler but also a ASSISTANT COACH at Snake Pit Wigan. Snake Pit Wigan only teaches catch wrestling while Aspull Wrestling Club(In the SAME BUILDING as snake pit wigan) teaches freestyle wrestling. He is level 2 in both catch wrestling(snake pit wigan) and freestyle wrestling(Aspull Wrestling Club). The highest at snake pit would be level 6 and he is still training.
@tichtran6642 жыл бұрын
And no Kevin didn't started as pro wrestler before going into legit martial art. He actually got started in muay thai THEN WENT INTO GRAPPLING. Not bad for a guy who was third place at Empire Grappling this year(Many years ago he was silver medalist at novice level) and catch wrestling world championship. From striker to very good grappler.
Judo guy seemed like he was having a lot of trouble getting offence going without a gi he kept grabbing the back like you would in a gi judo guys need to know the tie ups without the gi
