The wind and rain has been truly awful this year, and so many sad stories of people losing their boats and homes to flood waters. Thankfully our boat has been safe in a little marina while we have been traveling the country catching up with family over the last few weeks. We’ve had road closures due to flooding and had to take detours, but at least our home is safe. Thanks for thinking of us and we are glad you are enjoying the videos 😊

Another great vlog, we noticed you have a westie tiller pin, and having westies was wondering where you got it from. Like you we came over from the States 5 years ago to live on a narrow boat and shipped our two westies with us. Logan was 9 and Finley was 2. Again like you we lost logan last year whilst on the Weaver. keep the vlogs coming and hope to meet sometime along the waterways of Britain.
@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
Such a similar story! Where we you in the States? Sorry to hear about you poor boy Logan. It’s so hard to lose them isn’t it. This is where we got ‘Dave’ the westie tiller pin from dracocrafts.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=316. They have lots of different designs in stock but will also source something particular if you ask them I think! Thanks for watching 😊

@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
It was a wonderful roast. Pete’s definitely got it mastered, even in a small space with a small oven that he moans constantly about! It’s not Alex’s song, but it’s definitely his style. It’s ’Time On Our Side’ by Ten Towers 😊

As you said, what a place to be trapped. So lovely along that canal! But the great revelation was Pete cooking! Does he do it all, or just the Sunday roast? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. A lot of men can cook, some are great chefs. So if Pete does the cooking, no doubt Caroline does a great job putting the videos together! 😊
@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
As I said, it could have been far worse! We were so lucky to be ‘trapped’ on such a gorgeous stretch of canal. Pete loves to cook and I would say we share the cooking about half and half. He has his specialities that he loves to cook, and our friends love him to cook for them, especially Sunday roasts, risotto and sticky toffee pudding! I count myself very lucky 😊

Thank you for this lovely video. Always excited to see another video up. Just got home from grocery shopping. Getting ready for a major snow storm. The NWS calling for any where from 7 to 14 inches of snow. Plus winds of 40 mph or more. Seems we are right in the middle of the possible path of the storm. Starts Monday night till early Wednesday morning. So made sure we did the normal ' bread - milk' run. Plus got fuel for the snow blower. Cannot wait to use the blower. Started up on the first pull and is ready to go. Then like after all storms. Going to be a bitter cold snap after the snow. Highs one day high forecasted to be 10 F and low of -4 F. Take care and be safe. Spinner
@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
Hey Spinner! Sophie told us about the expected snow storm coming to your area and she’s expecting to be working from home tomorrow if what they have promised arrives! Your temperatures for next week are crazy cold but we know you are far more used to it and more prepared than us Brits would be. We complain when it gets just below freezing 😂
@tompinnef633111 ай бұрын
@@onedaymoreaboard Well my 14 hp snow blower is ready for duty. But Sat / Sunday looks brutal. 17 / -3 F and 8 / -9 F. Then way better then 2009 record low -29 F with wind chills of -45F. I'll update you next video after we get though this. LOL. Should have seen us fighting fires in that weather. Was a fun time.... (not really) God Bless - take care.

Absolutely gorgeous photography again. I particularly love the black and white ones of the dogs. It certainly looked like a beautiful place to be marooned last winter - I’m not sure it would be as attractive this winter in the mud and pouring rain!! Hope you’re safe from the floods xx
@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
We have had so much wind and rain this year it’s been crazy! We have always said that freezing temperatures with ice and snow are far preferable to rain as it freezes the muddy towpaths, making for much cleaner dogs and boat! The Llangollen is such a beautiful place to be trapped 😊

Poppy is such a delight galloping up those steps. Also delightful was that wonderful sunset from the Prees Branch. I live in the middle of the city, so yours are the only sunsets I get to see! I suspect that the pontoon was there to enable the brickies to repoint the brickwork, which is both an abutment and a retaining wall.
@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
I think you are right about the brick work on the bridge. Poppy was so funny charging up those steps! She certainly has a very big character for such a little dog. It’s funny when I’m editing and she catches sight of herself, or hears us calling her or telling her to fetch her ball! We’ve certainly seen some stunning sunrises and sunsets in our time aboard, and every now again, when I perhaps miss the convenience of a house, the view the next morning shakes me out of it! 😊

@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
We remember the search for parsnips when we were in Texas, and then finding them at an exorbitant price! At Christmas, a lot of the grocery stores put their basic vegetables down to crazy low prices, and we were so excited to see a bag of parsnips for 15p (about 20c) 😂. Looking forward to spring even more this year after the crazy wind and rain we’ve been having 😊

@onedaymoreaboard11 ай бұрын
Wow that’s proper trapped! What time of year was that? Hope you were ok. We have this worry about being on rivers in the winter because of the flood potential. Being frozen in on a canal seems far more preferable if we had to choose one, and we were lucky we were right by facilities and a Tescos when we were frozen in! 😊
