This is the best video on the internet on how to assemble a Onefinity CNC router. The Onefinity manufacturer should have hired you to demonstrate how to setup their product. The lighting, sound, camera/editing, and presentation was excellent. If it wasn't for the the cost, I would buy one.

Wow I really appreciate the compliment - thank you! 😃 I set a goal for myself last year to make enough from side hustles to buy a cnc machine. Gave me motivation to work towards it. If you want one, set some small goals and work towards them - you’d be surprised how quickly you can save for one!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. I just setup my Journeyman X50 and without this video, I am sure I would have been very frustrated. While OneFinity did well with packaging and personal touches, there was nothing to guide you along with the setup process. After the setup was complete, I did open the sticker package and found a card that in fine print directed you to an online manual. But with your video, i didn’t even need to check the manual. Thanks again!!!

So if I could give you a thousand likes, I would. Thank you for making this video. I am about to pull the trigger on this machine and watched another set up video that while humorous, it was very disorganized feeling and I was beginning to experience serious self doubt. Your video took all of this and re-organized the chaos I saw in my brain from the previous video and now I'm excited again...lol. This is not a cheap investment, so a lot of consideration has gone into this for me, so again, thank you.

Great video. Your set up is almost exactly like I envisioned my set up. Question: was it absolutely necessary to flatten the waste boards with a router bit? MDP is dead flat so I would think you can go as is.
@DoingWhatever2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You'd think that MDF is very flat and consistent but there was about 1/8" difference from front to back. Not sure if that was the MDF or the plywood top or what, but I would run a flattening pass on the waste board - you might be surprised at the inconsistency. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for taking the time to help out your fellow creatives! I just ordered my x-50 and have very limited space in my garage due to many machines and tools. Can you tell me outside dimensions for this kit? Need to keep table top at minimum so I have room to move about.. er aboot since this machine is Canadian.
@DoingWhatever2 жыл бұрын
Glad to help! The outside dimensions of the rails are roughly 48" x 48", but that doesn't include the touchscreen or the controller box. If you go on their website and click on the woodworker x-50, the last image shows a few of the dimensions. Hope that helps!

All the link are in the video description and also the description of this video as well -kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJTacnmBiq2Wj5Y - Where I build the cnc table. Hope that helps and doesn't hurt your argument for buying one! 😂
@woody2woodster Жыл бұрын
Is it a case that this CNC machine’s accuracy will depend on how Flat and ridged you can make a table? Making a large and dead flat surface is not that easy. Please correct me if I’m wrong
@DoingWhatever Жыл бұрын
To a point I think you are correct but that’s where the waste board comes into play (the MDF on top). By using a flattening bit on the waste board, you are flattening the work surface in relationship to the machine. Does that make sense?
@ryleylamarsh2 жыл бұрын
Great video! I noticed that there was an edge around the perimeter that your bit didn’t plane. Is there a way to avoid that?
@DoingWhatever2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That edge is the part of the wasteboard that’s outside the limits of my machine’s cutting area. You could avoid this by making a smaller wasteboard, or by using a hand plane or sander to level the perimeter with the rest of the board. I just used a hand plane to level that out. Great question! Thanks for watching 😃

I am planning to buy this same machine and all the accessories exactly as you have done. Could you please leave a comment again with the links that you mentioned previously? I’m having trouble finding them. Thanks very much. Great video!
@DoingWhatever2 жыл бұрын
I don't think KZbin likes adding a bunch of links in a comment (sometimes they think it's spam). But I have all the links listed in the video description - look right underneath the video screen and there's a box there that I start by saying "Today I run through my onefinity woodworker x-50 initial setup..." and there should be a "show more" button. click on that to expand the video description box and you'll find all the links 😃 Let me know if you're still struggling to find the links. thanks for watching!

@@DoingWhatever yes, sorry about the confusion. I was watching the video on my phone and since I'm over 50 y/o these things are hard for me to figure out. I've found it now. Great job on the description btw. I also watched the video you bade for building the table. It looked like the final size was 48x72 - is that correct? I'm wondering if I can build a table that is 48x48 and have the Woodworker x50 fit on it? What is the actual footprint of the machine? Thanks very much, Clint
@DoingWhatever2 жыл бұрын
No worries, happy to help! Correct, final size of my work bench was 48x72. You could get away with a 48x48 with a few inches to spare. Outside to outside of the feet measures just under 46" so it should work! Good luck with the build!
@clintwhitsett2 жыл бұрын
@@DoingWhatever after a bit more review I think I'm going with the Journeyman (32x48) just so I don't have to upgrade later. From what you said in the video I think that should still fit on the 48x72 table. Cheers!

Question. Why mount the CNC to the table, then put channel and MDF down, then flatten VS. Putting a sheet of MDF down, mounting the CNC to that & the table, and using the CNC to route out the slots for the channel and flatten the MDF? Won't your method take away ~3/4" of z access and take a lot longer?

Obviously you either had a bad experience or your expectations are too high. This is a great machine at this price point. Customer service has been nothing but stellar for me considering how busy they are fulfilling orders and actually listening to customer feedback. What issues did you actually have? Blanket statements like POS hardly contribute anything to folks that are trying to make smart decisions. Try being more specific in an effort to validate your comment.
