On that remote for the Oneida, when you sense that the remote is worn out and will not start or requires several presses of the go button; just buy the remote from Oneida; not the receiver unit as those do last longer than the remote. I had an electrician come in the shop (he had a reading disability as I found out after several failures of the install) and he miswired the remote and a shaper. That wiring on the remote caused me to think the remotes were not lasting very long; I was buying lots of remotes. Finally had Oneida tell me how the wires connect and now I have remotes around the shop saving me time. The electrician, due to his failures, would say, "you need to get the machine manufacturer out here to correct their mistake". I just started reading all the install papers and figured out the problems. I hope you can place branching of the 4" tubes and avoid those 90 degree turns. Good luck

Thanks for this video! FYI, I spoke with iVac tech support and they confirmed that you just need the Contactor that they sell, it then plugs into a 115v ivac switch, and the Supercell just plugs into your wall outlet. That enables the auto/remote on/off. I've ordered this setup along with the blast gates...looking forward to it!

Hi, thanks for that info! Its been 11 months since you posted this. Do you have any updates? Were you able to install the auto on/off with the blast gates ok? How do you like it? I'll be setting up for a small carpentry business and need it to be automated because the guys won't remember or take the time to turn on the unit each time. Thank you!
@1S4Per2 жыл бұрын
@@yabogomol2285 It's working well! The contactor install was easy (auto on/off) and works reliably. The iVac blast gates also are great. I have a very weird space that my shop is in (not one open space, but several smaller 'rooms') and I did find that putting the iVac Pro Tool Plus sensors (those that sense when a tool starts) into as much of an open space as possible helps, as does making sure they're away from other potential electrical interference. Every once in a while, I'll get a gate not in the correct state, but I think that's due to my unique shop layout and wall interference. All up - loving the setup and highly recommend!

11,000 CFM? I think you might have calculated that wrong, do you have the correct settings and the right cubic feet set? You need to set the units of the area of the tube, then measure CFM. 11K is 24 times higher than the manufacturer states.
@thewoodmaster4 жыл бұрын
See the answer above. The 11000 converts to 959 CFM.

What type of piping are you using? What is the black PVC pipe? Are the y splits, angle pieces, and connectors the same PVC? What brand/where did you buy? Thanks for the review!

The black pipe is abs 4" from HD, and the y splits are from Rockler. there splits fit perfectly on the inside of the ABS black pipe

Great review Howard. I am seriosly considering a super cell. Onieda strongly recommends against using plastic pipe. I currently have some of my plastic pipe system under a cement floor and the rest on the walls and ceiling. I noticed that you seem to have some plastic pipe under the floor and along the wall. Do you have any problems with static electricity?
@thewoodmaster2 жыл бұрын
I have not had any problems with static electricity. If I remember when I first installed the pvc pipe I ran the ground wire along the pipe. I put screws through the pipe and ran the ground wires around the screws on the outside of the pipe. Never had any problems with static electricity.

Hi Mr. Boehm. Are all of those flex hoses reinforced or have you been able to get by using standard hoses? Thanks for the great review.
@thewoodmaster4 жыл бұрын
I used the reinforced hose they sell. It is needed as the normal hose will collapse. That being said I am using a short piece of regular hose at the far end of my longest run. It is open at the cnc so it doesn't collapse

Another great effort Howard! Now I need to buy the air volume measuring device! You are good at getting me to spend $$$. :) I was wondering if it was powerful enough that I'd need to leave a blast gate open in addition to the tool I was using. I'm going to add a long hose to vacuum my shop and was deciding whether to add a blast gate for it or just leave it open. My gut says do the blast gate. Just pulled the trigger on iVac.

Howard, I have a mini gorilla 220v Oneida dust collector and I am considering upgrading to this super-cell unit. What kind of electrical power did you have to run to that new super-cell dust collector? How quiet is the unit up close? Thanks for the video.

It is a lot quieter that my old delta but your not going to take a nap next to it. It takes 220v which is what my old one had.

@thewoodmaster3 жыл бұрын
I must say in the last year I have not had to be thinking of dust collection as this has been an exceptional unit. This unit has only one drawback and for me it's the magnetic shutoff switch. I would prefer having that as an option. I have all automatic blast gates but I can't use them without a strange work around.

Hi Howard, great review, thank you! How long approximately is your longest run? Looks like you are getting over 550 CFM on your CNC, that's pretty impressive. What's even more impressive is the suction at your miter saw hood, that rectangle hole must be approximately 28"x2" and at 1200 LFM it gives us 1200 * (28*2/144) = 467 CFM?! Even if my approximation on the dust collecting cavity is wildly off and it's 2 times smaller, that still means you are getting 233 CFM, which is extraordinary. I'm thinking about upgrading my dust collector to the Supercell, so I'm also very interested in how it performs on your Unisaw? Better than your old one? Do you have over the blade dust collection on the saw?
