Hi Dan, Just a tip for using a cast iron plate to cook steak, make sure the plate/griddle is very hot before adding the steak. You will get much better results at the steak will sear and you are less likely to get it cooking in water. Have a look for people cooking "dirty" steaks directly on charcoal.

Hi Dan, great video thanks for sharing, that steak looks huge :-). I think the liquid in the pan is water that's come from the steak so good to tip that out,. When you cook a steak at home you probably cook it on a medium/high heat in the frying pan which is always tricky on a pan like that in the woods, always good to keep the fire high so you can move logs away or add. Looking forward to your next vid Dan, love your videos :-) ...

Happy Father's Day. For further adventures, perhaps you want to consider using much more heat, to sear the steak from the beginning instead of cooking it, as water inside of the meat will leak out. Hope, I found some nice words to explain, what I wanted to tell you. I'm not a native speaker.

Should’ve scraped all that moisture & froth off the plate as it was stopping the Steak from frying properly, it was just bubbling away & boiling it. You could hear the sizzle correctly when you moved the Steak away from that froth.
