The speaker here is spewing absolute nonsense, rubbish. Allah has also made it permissible for women to CHOOSE whether or not they want to participate. Thats why its a womans absolute RIGHT to put a clause in her nikka that he is not allowed to take another wife, and if the husband agrees and signs the nikka he CAN'T take other wives beside her becomes a sin upon him. And you brothers who also dont understand this part of islam, how DARE you hate what Allah has made permisible. Oh you dears sisters if you dont want to be in a polygynous marraige just know: You are not a lesser muslima You are not going to hell You will still complete half of your husbands deen. You are not taking anyones right or denying anyone anything. You are still eligible for Jannah. What’s in the past is in the past. Polygamy was designed to grant women rights in an era when men were using them as s*x sl*ves, and men were very few due to war. Women have rights now and such treatment of women is criminalized. Also, the population of both genders is roughly the same today so the criteria to implement polygamy doesn’t exist. Even during those circumstances of that era, polygamy was discouraged because a lot of conditions were applied and Quran clearly states that man can’t be just. I don’t understand why these cult leaders, I mean “Scholars” encourage it when Allah promoted monogamy by stating in the Quran that we were created you in pairs. Also, today, if married men married multiple wives, what are single men to do? Turn to homosexuality?

Men can have up to four wives. There are no conditions attached to it. People need to stop promoting other religions (Liberalism) into the equation whenever we discuss Islam. The bar for us is Islam and every other faith/ideology is secondary. That's the first point I want to make. The second point I want to make is that the lens you see marriage in is of a liberal outlook. You want it to be that men should only have one wife. Your reasoning is flawed because now you have a dilemma. If a man marries a second wife (reghardless of whether you are right or I am right), should he now divorce one of them because he was "incorrect" in marrying the second one in the first place (because he didnt meet the conditions you specificallylaid out). Think hard about your answer. Does your answer compromise Allah's religion? We need to start looking at marriage in a mature manner. There are too many immature and young individuals with no real world experiences commenting on things they are clueless about. In Islam, a marriage is described as completing half your religion for a reason. These are not buzz words. In general, as Muslims we work towards community and society. We don't promote selfish behaviour. The role of a man in marriage is to lead, protect, provide and guide. He has a huge responsibility. Now, lets assess this situation in reality. Whether he is doing this for one wife, two, three or four makes no difference. He has to do it. No one is willing to judge him when he has one wife, so why speak out when he considers a second one? Thats the first hypocrisy. Moving on, when you have a man in a marriage where it is taking a nose dive and not working out...his answer is not to go get another wife. Because it is likely the second marriage will also fail. His job would be to fix his current marriage and/or seek out a divorce. A man in a successful marriage where he has ticked all the boxes, is the best candidate to marry a second wife. I would argue he is even better than the single guy (because of experience). In the same way, if you open a coffee shop and you find success, you then go on and open a second branch. You dont go and open a second if the first one fails. That would be illogical. Marriage isnt all about money and wealth. We have made it that way. The reason polygamy is frowned upon today is because society is selfish and people have high expectations. To conclude. A man can marry up to four women because Allah said it is best for society. He cant have more than four because that is what is best for society. It is best for him and it is best for her.

Allah also states in the Quran, one has to be fair but also warns that man can’t be fair. This verse that men use as their right to marry more wives, is not about men’s rights; it’s about woman’s rights. Polygamy is only mentioned once in the entire Quran, in a small verse under a Surrah about women’s right. It’s not about how many wives a man can marry, it’s about granting woman rights.

One of the main points of marriage is to protect yourself from Zina, If you are able to do that without marriage fine, but how many women who do what you are doing guard their chastity for a life time. I think its beneficial with some actual numbers being presented.. Its also easy to reseach.. So here we go.. The number of men and women in the world is roughly equal, though men hold a slight lead with 102 men for 100 women (in 2020). More precisely, out of 1,000 people, 504 are men (50.4%) and 496 are women (49.6%). Though its common logic, i think its worth to remember that yes some men die from illnesses, so do women though, some men are gay, but likewise are some women, some men doesn’t want marriage or have mental issues and what not..but..such is the case with some women also... I think respect is the key factor.. We are all different in mind and spirit.. Not one soul is the same.. If a man wants more wives, there is nothing wrong with that, its his right to seek what he wants, but likewise if a woman doesn’t want to be one of more wives, its her right too.. So they are simply not a match, its very simple.. We all want and wish marriages to last forever so be clear about important matters from the beginning.. sister it's better for a man to marry a woman to take care of her than have an affair use her and abuse her and then leave her. it's only Islam that allows this and it's actually beneficial for the woman as the men have to provide for her too. he can't just sleep with her and then leave her. he has to be just and if he doesn't he will be punished on the day of judgment. It's more better than the west. At least these single women or divorcees get a chance at a married life even if it's to share the husband which by the way is Soo damn hard but to gain the pleasure of rewards from your Lord is more. In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful The opening verses of Sūrat al-Tahrim describe an incident in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited himself from something in order to please his wives. The classical commentators provide two opinions: one is strong and authentic, and the other is weaker and provokes controversy. It has been authentically narrated on the authority of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet prohibited himself from drinking honey to please his wives. Aisha and Hafsa were upset that the Prophet was spending more time with his wife Zainab on account of a honey drink she would serve him, so they secretly agreed to pretend to be offended by the odor. The Prophet did not want to offend his wives, so he swore an oath never to drink it again. Allah revealed the verses telling the Prophet not to prohibit what is lawful. Aisha reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would spend time with his wife Zainab bint Jahsh and he would drink a concoction of honey. Hafsa and I agreed that whomever the Prophet visited first, we would say, “I notice a strong odor of mimosa gum on you.” The Prophet visited one of them and she said this to him, so the Prophet said: بَلْ شَرِبْتُ عَسَلًا عِنْدَ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ وَلَنْ أَعُودَ لَهُ I have taken a honey drink at Zainab’s house and I will not do it again. The verse was revealed: لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ Why do you forbid yourself from what Allah has made lawful for you? (66:1) Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1474, Grade: Sahih The authenticity of this narration is agreed upon according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Al-Bukhari included it in his explanation of Sūrat al-Taḥrīm. Moreover, Aisha was the direct witness about whom the verses speak, so she would know best what really happened. An alternative explanation of the passage has been narrated by others. In this version, the Prophet prohibits himself from being intimate with his concubine wife to please his other wives. In particular, it is alleged that Hafsa became upset when the Prophet was intimate with Maria the Copt in her house and on her bed, saying: أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي وَعَلَى فِرَاشِي O Messenger of Allah, in my house and on my bed? Source: Tafsīr al-Ṭabarī 66:1 al-Ṭabarī 66:1 This narration comes on the authority of Zaid ibn Aslam who was from the third generation and not a witness to the events in question. Hence, Ibn Hajar rules that this narrations’s chain of authorities is incomplete (mursal) in Fatḥ al-Bārī 9/288. For this reason, the explanation was not universally agreed upon by the classical commentators. Al-Qurtubi mentions first the story of Aisha followed by narrations that include Maria, then he says: أَصَحُّ هَذِهِ الْأَقْوَالِ أَوَّلُهَا وَأَضْعَفُهَا أَوْسَطُهَا The most correct of these opinions is the first of them, and the weaker of them are the others. Source: Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī 66:1 In other words, the authentic explanation is the one given by Aisha and the stories that include Maria are weak by comparison. Ibn Al-Arabi concludes: وَإِنَّمَا الصَّحِيحُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الْعَسَلِ وَأَنَّهُ شَرِبَهُ عِنْدَ زَيْنَبَ وَتَظَاهَرَتْ عَلَيْهِ عَائِشَةُ وَحَفْصَةُ فِيهِ وَجَرَى مَا جَرَى فَحَلَفَ أَلَّا يَشْرَبَهُ وَأَسَرَّ ذَلِكَ وَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ فِي الْجَمِيعِ Indeed, the only authentic narration is that it was about honey, that the Prophet drank it with Zainab, and Aisha and Hafsa pretended to be offended by it. There occurred what occurred and the Prophet made an oath never to drink it again. He confided that to his wife and the verse was revealed regarding all of them. Source: Aḥkām al-Qur’ān 66:1 In sum, the story about the dispute between Hafsa, Maria, and the Prophet does not have a strong basis in Islam. It is part of the apocryphal traditions that are of varying and questionable degrees of authenticity. Rather, the strongest explanation of the passage, passed down by the direct witness Aisha through an unbroken chain of authorities, is that the verses were revealed about a honey drink. Success comes from Allah, and Allah knows best.
