One more interesting fact, from the lore of the Necrons known as "Flayed ones". Cursed by a dying C'tan, flayed Ones kill in order to sate an unnatural hunger for flesh and blood; they kill so that they might feast. Of course, as machines, Necrons are incapable of consuming food or drink of any kind, and so this hunger can never be satisfied. Yet the Flayed Ones have devolved far beyond reason or logic, and as they cut down their prey they stop to smear meat across their unmoving jaws, as blood drips down their steel necks and dribbles through stained ribs to pool at their feet. This disease of the mind is accompanied by equally grotesque physical changes, as the living metal necrodermis of the afflicted Necron reconfigures to better serve its new purpose.
@GameArchiver8 жыл бұрын
So, flayed ones are basically like robot zombies?
@Harlequin6198 жыл бұрын
Argedon Huh, but being (living) machines wouldn't they need a source of fuel? Do they get that energy from other generators or do they need resources?
@gardiendesportes8 жыл бұрын
Harlequin619 the generator of these living machine are their own souls
@pariah27498 жыл бұрын
flayed ones, is the result of fail necrodermication process, so their flesh is not completely discarded and hence the hunger, and there are one more side effect of failed process the flayed one never ever can experience deep slumber unlike their other brethren so that why their mind become crazy..so because of that flayed one is in charge guarding tomb other than the servitor..

I tried to paint some necrons in a primarily white colour scheme and it went disastrously because as a habit I primed them black, then tried to use white scar to paint them, basically don't, white scar is a layer paint so it's slightly transparent. Try priming your models with citadel white spray paint. I found this totally gives a solid, yet thin coat. or if you'd rather just paint them, use ceramite white, as it's a base layer, it's designed so that you can paint the model mostly white. Cool video man, this is why Necrons are my favorite..

love your videos!!! keep up the good work 😆. are you guys planning on doin any wfb related stuff too?? And not the AoS kind, aint nobody got time for that XD on the subject of painting white, i see a lot of posts about white undercoating but since you are doing a raven guard themed army, wich are primeraly black it can be a pain to get your minis black again without messing up your crispy white. personally if im painting white on the shoulderpads of my black templars, i start of by painting the areas i want white in a medium grey colour and slowly build up towards the white. and always, like mentioned above, keep your paint thin or the buildup of layers can mess with detail or dry up in nasty lumps. its always better to do multiple thin layers then one thick one.take your time and make sure you use the grey base colour to help with highlights and shadows. ^^ hope it helps and happy painting!!!!
@schneideralexander548 жыл бұрын
To answer your question about using white paint, I would mix it with a small, very small, amount of water, it helps it to prevent clumping, , I used Citadel Ceramite White, that's what I used on my XV104 Riptide Battlesuit.. Also, could you do a video on the Vostorian
@SkinDiamondFan9 жыл бұрын
To paint white use a white or grey primer. Then you should basecoat with white using thin layers in order to prevent brushmarks. Do this by diluting the paint with a bit of water. It wont look amazing the after the first layer, but by using several thin ones you can preserve details on the models that would otherwise be masked if you use a lot of thicker paint. When highlighting you can do a bit of "reversed highlighting" with the use of very light grey to achieve the highlighting effect. Using as wash can be nice as well, however if you are doing this you should apply it after the primer and before the base coat. I hope this will help you. these lore videos are as addictive as crack keep them coming.
@OneMindSyndicate9 жыл бұрын
+Knob Gobbler I need to dilute my white. What was do you use?

Amazing Videos about the Lore!!! About the white. Its very impotent that you thin it down quiet a bit almost to glaze consistency. Do not use "water" to dilute it because water will change the behavior of the paint a lot and the coverage gets not even. The best way to thin it down is a proper acrylic medium, like lahmian Medium from GW or a medium from Liquitex. I like the white from Coat d'arms a lot because you can easly achieve a smooth coat with it. Very imported is also that you don't overwork the paint. With that I mean don't go back and try to move half dried paint around because then you end up with paintcrumbs and a rough surface. Let it fully dry and then come back with another layer if your not happy with the result. I hope that helps Cheers

This is just one race. The sheer quality of lore is unprecedented. There is no comparison with other titles such as star craft. GW is just really terrible at advertising and exploiting their titles. Specially when you see what blasphemy they committed with Warhammer fantasy. I just hope that they are not dumb or stupid enough to give the End Times Treatment to 40k. Utter disaster . I found that when I paint a white model it works best to prime gray. Then you use a wash for your recessed areas, and step up (in layers) to white or any light color. Apocalyptic Fish has a nice video on it. I used his method to paint a white chaos champion of Korn with blood splatter for one of my party members. I hope this will help you, and thanks for the lore. I'm about to throw Necrons at them.

Question, though I understand the leader has more individual functioning and a sense of mind, how much does the typical Necron retain? Do they retain any fraction of their past memories or personalities?
@TheElusiveHunter8 жыл бұрын
The higher up you are in royalty, the better your coding engrams are. Warriors are practically mindless in the first place, and that only gets worse as they die more. Immortals are just a step up, but ones like Crypteks, Lychguard, and similar types are incredibly astute, with some Crypteks being able to mess with time itself (and one Cryptek nearly destroyed time if that says anything of their functioning). Independence and personality goes hand in hand with that, but they don't care much for independence typically, being wholly devoted to their phaeron or lord most of the time.

Painting white is a pain. I'm currently doing Vior'la sept Tau, and I've found basecoating in white is the best, cleanest way to start the ball rolling as it provides a really even finish! For a future lore video, maybe focus on one of the badass characters of the 40k universe: Ragnar Blackmane? :D
