You skipped over the Void Dragon. Of all the C'Tan, that one has the most lore surrounding it. It's believed to be imprisoned on Mars by the Emperor himself as legend tells of him fighting and trapping a dragon in a maze underground when he first went there. It's rumoured to be the Omnissiah the Adeptus Mechnanicus worship as their beliefs on how humans can transcend through becoming machines much like the Necrontyr did with their encounter with the C'Tan. It was also the most powerful, having dominion over all machinery which also explains why the Adeptus can actually fix machinery through channeling some sort of power by praying. There was also the time the Necron became the only race to breach the defenses of Sol system to do something on Mars with only one of the ships delivering it cargo onto the planet before being destroyed with the site being quarantined. The only reason why it lost to the Emperor at all was it badly wounded Blackstone Fortress which also leaves it open to the possibility it survived the rebellion of the C'Tan and remains whole. So if it ever gained its full strength, it would be devastating to everyone in the galaxy as the Necron are far too weak at this point to deal with it.
@the_dropbear43926 жыл бұрын
gimpytheimp The books pretty much confirm that it is a C'tan, even though it's sleeps it asks if the others had eaten all the stars (we know C'tan feed of stars) Its referred to as the dragon of Mars and makes technology in the region go haywire, void dragon was known for being able to control technology
@DeathBYDesign666 Жыл бұрын
@@the_dropbear4392And wouldn't those be some incredibly odd coincidences if that wasn't the case? It's more than just coincidence, it is intentionally implicated. I find it weird how much people refer to the lore from it's in universe perspective honestly. If the emperor himself was unable to kill this beast it has to be something beyond a chaos god or close to it.
@the_dropbear4392 Жыл бұрын
@@DeathBYDesign666 Becuase its refered to as one in multiple books, hell the necrons even send a small attack force to mars to try recover it. In gods of mars we are directly told it is one by someone who is using another to power a machine thats a galactic terraforming device, and the eldar looking into the future sees that its on mars aswell. Nothing stated he can't kill it, just that he didn't. And given the last time a C'tan was destroyed it scared the ever loving shit out of the silent king with the damage it caused to reality that they decided to just shard the rest, killing one is a bad idea.

I don't think the Outsider created the Tyranids, but I think that perhaps the outsider devoured all the stars in the Tyranid's home galaxy, causing most of the life to die there. With nothing to feed on, the Tyranids came here instead.

Well, to be fair, there is so many people working on the lore of wh40k that, in the end there will always be some contradictions. But the Outsider controlling and/or creating the tyranids, why not! Or maybe not, who knows. Now, another theory for you: the eldar gods are c'tan's shardes that accept to be change and being at the service of the eldar for protection and a place in the warp. The interessing part of this theory is that's explained part of the story about the eldar's gods during the war in heaven (like khaine/nightbringer killing eldar and fighting the yngirs/c'tans and others eldar's gods , Cegorag/deciever triking the yngirs to fight each other).

So are these things greater than the chaos gods? What's the difference?
@watcherzero52568 жыл бұрын
Greater in their physical presence in the material universe and lesser in their power and influence. The Chaos Gods like the Eldar gods are actual gods created by the unconscious thought of the lesser races pouring in to the immaterium (Warp) where thought becomes reality. They are able to influence minds across the whole galaxy, reshape the warp in to their own personal kingdoms, create and command infinite legions of demons, mutate their followers and grant them increased magical power or knowledge, but they cant physically leave the warp as they lack physical form and there is no vessel large and strong enough to contain them. The C'Tan are extremely powerful and extremely ancient energy vampires who fed on stars and were larger than planets but couldn't physically interact with the universe. They were then put in to physical bodies (slightly larger than a human) which gave them the ability to physically interact with the universe but considerably lessened their power making them essentially mortal, tied to one place. In power now they are in physical form you could probably compare them to a Greek God.
@jackwalters39288 жыл бұрын
Watcher Zero If a C'tan (both in and out of their physical body) traveled to the warp and faced the chaos gods, what would their chances be?
@watcherzero52568 жыл бұрын
Outside the body probably a stalemate, neither could kill the other. Inside the body probably the Chaos god would win as an idea of collective unconciousness personified is pretty much unkillable through physical assault whereas the Ctan has taken on a physical form.
@jackwalters39288 жыл бұрын
Watcher Zero So basically it would be a draw either way, since that as soon as the C'tan would die it would go back into its' former self as far as I know.
@watcherzero52568 жыл бұрын
We don't know. The fact that they remained tied to the shards after their bodies were broken up by the Necron suggests they are now physically bound even if elaborate methods are utilised to stop them rebelling or escaping.

After watching this, a thought struck me. Is the Emperor a C'Tan? Think about it, in the lore, the Emperor was said to be conglomeration of ancient human shamans. What if those shamans were C'Tan fragments as described in this video who purposefully forgot their past to potentially elude the Necrons. Perhaps the Golden Throne is based on Necron technology but made with the limitations of human resources of the time.

Who they're enslave star gods. Who would win in a fight a Ctan or a chaos God?
@Kuro7888 жыл бұрын
Maybe C'tan... since they can influence the very fabric of the material universe versus the Chaos gods who can only indirectly influence it. Although it is difficult to say how much influence the chaos gods actually have in the material universe... like pulling worlds into the warp. Suffice to say a fight between these two groups of cosmic horrors, would be an indirect confrontation. After all they'd be fighting over their favorite nourishment, souls. And in that sense the Chaos gods may have an edge there. Chaotic corruption can be spread and be accepted by the mortal beings versus the C'tan that have to take it by force. You have to keep in mind they do have bodies so they can't be every at once (although with their technical know-how, the C'tan can probably teleport very easily across the galaxy, with a mere snap of a finger).
@the_dropbear43926 жыл бұрын
