Excellent lesson. I know the fretboard well because of my 2 years of music theory is high school. I'm just learning fingerpicking at age 72. I've strummed chords since I was a teenager because I loved singing. Once I could strum chords I got lazy and never tackled finger picking. Now I've decided I want my Martin D-18 to sing as well. I'm patiently studying all details of finger picking. Thanks so much for your excellent lesson. I'm so grateful. Finger picking comes so slowly, but I'm so much more mature now. I'm stickin’ with it.

I have a classmates who is so good on guitar even he lose his right hand middle finger. He only need palm and index to do plucking, it's take a lot of practice, dedication, and patience also descipline he said. Those people who lose there middle finger or palm and index etc. but continue playing guitar salute to you all.Your better than those who have a complete hand.

Thanks mam. Very helpfull for me to learn to play guitar. Im a bass player about 40 years. But now i try to learn the fingerpicking on the six string. Its not easy, becaus the space between the strings is very small. Your chanal can help me to play it one day. So thanks very much. Take care and god bless.

Great lesson! I definitely noticed when learning chords such as the open C chord, there are two C's, though strumming the chord, there are also extra notes that sound great with them, such as a finger on the E note, plus the open G string and open E. There has to be some magic that explains why they sound so great as a grouping, when other notes definitely do not. Also, great arms and shoulders. You have to be spending time in a gym!

Practice, practice, and practice. No such thing as a shortcut. You knew that. 😊 Keep your guitar handy, and just pick it up and fool around when you have free time, my friend. During commercials, time-outs, huddles, videos, whatever … It’s going to take a zillion tries, so the sooner you get the first [zillion - 100] out of the way, the sooner you’ll arrive at the good ones. We already know they won’t feel, sound or look good, but that’s the point. If anyone could do it well in a few weeks, we wouldn’t get the pride of mastering it. (Plus, you need to gain finger/joint/muscle memory gradually anyway. Only then can you refine the sound.) So hack away as long as you can and then do it again do it again. (Yay for boomer humour!) I’m turning 61 soon and after a few years of lessons I can move barre chords around now. I’m not great, but I’m definitely on the way. It *will* all click into place one day if you just keep at it. But only you can put in the hard part. (You knew that too. Middle school’s … um … a while ago, huh?) If I can go from 0 to where I am in 5 years, you can certainly master barre chords. 👍 Before you know it, you’ll be wondering what you found so difficult! Remember, everyone: We’re moving an E or Em shape up and down the 6th string; and We’re moving an A or Am shape up and down the 5th string while using our thumb to numb the 6th. The trick is to start making those chord shapes with fingers 2, 3, and 4 instead of 1, 2, and 3. That frees up 1 to make the barre *however works best for you.* Yep, Lil’ 4 is gonna ache. 😢 But Big 4 is gonna play awesome barre chords. Whenever Ol’ 1 gets the knack of mid-knuckle pressure. 🎉 Hope this was at least a little helpful and/or encouraging. Have fun! That’s the whole point, right. 😊

I wish you and others had like a record label or something. Like a spotiity but u can import ur Subs and trade and sell music with each other and give a little kick back to the KZbinr(in this case). A platform where u have already dedicated subscribers or following. So they will just gravitate with them to that platform. Or .... Cant we get youtube to be a kind of record Label. Unlike FruityLoops and cooledit, companies that for some reason never became a record label, even though they were responsible for like 60% of music though the 90's and 2000s.

I had injured my strumming fingers. and I had been trying to find songs, to perhaps motive, I am NOT interested in a lot of BABBLING talk, and strumming cords. Just looking for motivation tunes. NO BACK GOUND MUSIC , just the loan GUITAR.,, I many NEVER really be able to strum cords the way you or other do , I just want the motivation to try to play along to certain tunes , just the Guitar. NO TALKING, just want to concentrate on my way of fingering. See others do it and they use both hands to play without the strumming or picking. For I know that may be how I will end up
