What makes it interesting is how those mountains look. Unlike huge mountains you'll see in most countries where there is a slow gradual incline, the northern mountains in Vietnam are more dramatic and there's more of them. In the past, Vietnam used to own land further into China, where I bet a lot of dramatic mountain scenery can be seen. I love those mountains/karsts on both land and water. When they go on for a vast distance, they are just so majestic and mystical in the fog/cloud/mists.

Your videos are so amazing! I am Vietnamese (born in the States). I love hearing how you all adapt so quickly to new places and culture. I went on a charity trip in Ha Giang in 2019. Since Ha Giang is up in the mountains, you will see a lot of ethnic minority people. Ha Giang is known for their sticky rice. It's very simple and you can see it sold out on the streets in the morning. If you can find it, try it. It's the best sticky rice I ever had. I hope Tia gets better!

I think what you had for breakfast described as a sausage is “nem chua rán” Common dish in Hanoi and a favourite for kids generally speaking but all over in countryside too 👍🏼 Recipe: 200 grams of shredded pork skin (about 7 ounces) 1 teaspoon salt 500 grams of minced pork (1.1 pounds) 2 tablespoons beer (any type will do) 1 small piece ginger, grated 1 tablespoon minced garlic 2 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons fish sauce 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon sliced chili 1 teaspoon lime juice Breadcrumbs Vegetable oil (enough for deep frying) Method: Mix the pork skin with salt, rinsing it well to remove the strong smell. Boil water in a saucepan and add the beer and ginger. Then add the pork skin, blanching it for 30 seconds. Don’t cook it for too long! After, drain it and spread it out on a surface to air dry. In a large mixing bowl, season your minced pork with the garlic, sugar, fish sauce, cornstarch, pepper, and chili slices. Mix it well and cover the bowl, freezing it for about two hours. Process the frozen meat in a food processor until it becomes a paste then combine it with the pork skin. Use your hand to mix everything until they’re combined well. Add the lime juice. Divide the meat mixture and wrap it into five-inch rolls, using cling film. Let it chill in the fridge for four hours. Add enough vegetable oil into a pan to cover your pork rolls. Heat the oil to deep-frying temperature (350 and 375 degrees F), then coat the pork rolls in breadcrumbs before adding them to the oil. Fry until evenly browned and the pork is cooked. As a snack this is a favourite of ours. You can buy but some ingredients differ from one street vendor to another! Many take shortcut! But if you make your own it’s REAL 😉👌 Enjoy the Ha Giang loop it’s breathtaking for sure . The videos are great guys. If you are still in Hanoi I can if you have time show you a few local gems to enjoy. Reach out 🙏🏻👌

I've been following you guys since the start of your Australian tour. It's been a pleasure following your travels and as a very amateurish videographer I'm impressed with your editing! Your drone shots have brought so much more to the videos and you know how to keep our interest up. The shots of random objects, trees, blossom, river crossing, etc make the subject of your videos come alive. As I have always found it difficult getting accompanying music that doesn't require a licence I'm guessing you are subscribed to a site as it is very fitting music :) What editing program are you using? Premiere Pro, Capcut or Clipchamp? Anyway, excellent effort putting it all together and the use(positioning) of your cameras is perfect. Cheers...Noel 😃👋👍

Sorry Tia and Cheveyo, yet more advice coming your way. Take it from someone who has been riding scooters and motorcycles for 56 years. You are damaging your eyes. First, the constant pounding by the wind dries out the eye and tears cannot keep up with the lubrication . Second, any gnarly shaped insect hitting your eye at those speeds (not to mention a stone thrown up by a passing vehicle) can pierce the eyeball. If you don't like wearing sun glasses or have the visor down (and I get that) try buying a pair of the clear plastic safety glasses used as industrial PPE. They wrap around the edges so offer great protection at a very modest price. All that said, stunning scenery well captured by fantastic videography 👍
@OnePackWanderers Жыл бұрын
The advice is appreciated 🙂 I (Cheveyo) have the visor down whenever I’m not talking to the camera. Tia did eventually start doing the same. It’s really tough to convey that in the videos because we’re talking and so the visors are up 😅 But I promise the visors are generally down.
@PeteV.53 Жыл бұрын
@@OnePackWanderers good to hear! Thank you for responding😊 I get claustrophobic with full face helmets so I ride most of the time with the visor up (when it's not raining) as I need the airflow over my face. However, I wear wrap-around, Wiley-X, goggles (great US brand!) that have a silicone gasket which seals against my face😎

I had never heard of the term switchback before in Australia, do Aussies use this term? Anyway I had to look it up... so basically you are saying the road zig zigs, right?
@Gordon_L Жыл бұрын
The common term in Australia would be hairpin bend .
@Shift0231 Жыл бұрын
Yes and in Aus we say ‘windy’ or ‘winding’ roads rather than ‘twisty’ or ‘bendy’ roads’ A ‘Twisty’ is an Australian cheese or chicken savoury snack (life’s pretty straight without twisties is their catch phrase 😂)
@PeteV.53 Жыл бұрын
@Shift0231 you can't be an Aussie motorcyclist then? "Twisties" is a very common term for a section of road with lots of bends. Nothing gives us greater delight than to see one of those yellow road signs with a wriggly black line and an arrowhead at the end of it! ☺

@OnePackWanderers10 ай бұрын
Hey! The Ha Giang Loop is nice in that it doesn’t get a lot of traffic. So the road hazards are mostly to do with the quality of the road, and the weather. In comparison to riding in the cities of Vietnam, Ha Giang is much easier and in my opinion safer. But also at the end of the day, Vietnam is statistically one of the most dangerous countries in the world to ride in.
