Thanks for sharing these tips, Just got mine from Ebay. for only $49.99 all seems genuine even software check, Screen is easy to read, Gery lettering on face of watch, except tag on watch came blank without model number? but everything else shows $49.99 Watch is real and official? Although everything checked out mine does say its made in Japan on the back of the plate as well as on the buckle. G-shock probably has some made in China and some Made In Japan? Even the darker grey lettering on the face of the watch checks out. Unless they have gotten very good at cloning, I would have to say not all made in japan are fake?

Well, my service mode doesn't work or my fingers are broken lol. But im happy from my watch. The manual looks original, the guarantee card also looks well. The watch works well, the modes switch like in the manual card (Timekeeping mode --> Alarm --> Timer --> Stoper). It looks good, and works well. I believe that it's an original. I've got it from a Watch Retailer near me. (If you are curious what model is it, it's a Casio G-Shock DW-5600HR-1DR). And I'am planning to collect whole of the Heritage Red series :)

Update: Turns out it's original, it has everytihng you said on original one, has the 8888 mode and is 1:1 to orignal one
