Well, done for making an observation on something completely subjective & irrelevant, i.e. aesthetics. I actually really don't like the look of the Avengers model, but I acknowledge some would prefer it. Same goes with the mirror black & silk white too. I'll either be pulling the trigger on a midnight black model or I'm actually hoping for a sandstone black in the near future like the original OP1. However, the price increase on the limited edition model, completely negates the main reason, & overwhelming USP, for buying an OP device...The price...

The photos are mostly in auto mode. Use the P20's pro mode and you'll see the difference. The P20 is far superior.

Man I gotta give it to OnePlus for their latest flagship but that stadium shot really sold it for me in terms of flexibility on the Huawei P20 Pro. But with the price of the OnePlus 6, it's hard to justify spending more for an occasional situation while the OP6 holds its own in most other areas. And as for the shaky video in the OP6, if you shot in 4k60fps it uses OIS instead of EIS and that's probably where the difference was. Erica Griffin discovered that.

I bought the op6 but was considering the p20 pro. I'm honestly glad I saved my money. I don't feel like the additional benefits are worth the additional money as it's not like the p20 is levels above the op6 to justify the increase in price . Also...I forget which settings use which stabilization method but supposedly mattering on the resolution you set the video (OnePlus 6) determines if the video is utilizing ois or eis. I think the 60fps options use OIS and the regular 720, 1080, 4K use EIS

Nazzy, as I stated earlier have the Mate 10 Pro and OP6, the battery endurance on the Mate is great. The charging (DASH) is faster, and I do know there's a 700mA difference between the two. Still both are fast. Having had a OP3t have like 4 DASH chargers and 5 cables, and keep one with me when I go to work, or in my jacket pocket. I do use WAZE with the Mate, because my car adaptor will quick charge the Mate. When OP releases their BT Bullet ear buds, I'm going to order a DASH car charger and one of the wood cases, or nylon. I have the Karbon at present.

Yo Day Based on my experience with my OnePlus 6, I'm able to get 6hrs of screen on time on a single charge, compared to 3hrs with my Galaxy S8. So no, I wouldn't consider the OnePlus as "drain fast".

Just got the P20 pro after agonising over it or the OP6. Very happy with it so far. I love the range of options on it and the camera app is very easy to use. It just seems like a step closer to an actual camera than most phones at the moment. But almost every phone out right now produces great results. It's only when we compare photos side by side and zoom in to analyse detail that we get more fussy :)

This became much closer comparison than I expected. OnePlus 6 has better HDR triggering system which activates HDR more often than P20 Pro, resulting in more dynamic looking (though quite oversaturated) with better shadow exposure. I was quite surprised how P20 Pro managed to pull out more details in most shots out of the image, though, I thought 16MP sensor would really do its job here. However it was a bit disappointing that there was no nighttime landscape samples since that's where P20 Pro truly shines... It would've been very nice to see if I was able to see more low-light photos including pitch black conditions. Overall great comparison though.

This is my first oneplus for me, I am a really big fan of huawei phones but nowadays they're going a little bit higher on prices, came from the Mate 10 Pro to OnePlus 6 and i thought it would be a downgrade for the battery and camera, but its not, at this price OnePlus really managed to get a great phone and it was actually cheaper than my Mate 10 Pro, i think I'll stick with it for a while and see what Huawei offers by the end of the year.

But you didn't use all of the samsung's features in its battle against OP6 and now in this video too. You did not use different cameras for photos for p20 pro. There is a 40MP camera and a 12MP as well. You should've used and compared all photos from both cameras in p20 pro. Come on man. You're leaving a lot in these 2 videos. Don't do this. Love u.

IMO, casual smartphone users would tend to perfer recording in 1080p, for the mere reason of saving storage space. Of course its always nice to have 4K, but I wouldn't record in that resolution unless something REALLY deserves that high of a resolution to record in.

The only real advantage of the P20 Pro is the 3x optical / 5x hybrid zoom. Otherwise it is WAY overrated in terms of photo quality. I would take One Plus 6 any day. Especially given the price. And this review is really weak.

High end Mid range smartphone manufacturers try to pack features as many as they could while keeping under budget but in some cases, they f**k up. I was considering buying a P20 until Huawei stopped allowing the bootloader to be unlocked. I'm a nerd and a tweaker, I can't help myself and I hate when OEMs stop me from doing what I want with MY device. Google & Oneplus are the only OEMs that allow me to customise the software, without invalidating my warranty. I'm actually surprised with how well the OP6 faired against the P20. Oneplus has always fallen well short on their cameras until now, and it was just a caveat most people accepted because of the price and because most of the other stuff was great. But their auto-hdr is only now bettered by the Pixel, and maybe the S9+, and their EIS is fantastic, as is sound recording. The video recording is absolutely abysmal on the Huawei. No stabilisation on 4k and no 4k60 and the sound recording and wind noise is really bad too. They could bring EIS in 4k in an update, but knowing their track record that won't happen. Stills can be off the charts on the P20, and I love B&W photography, but the China/SE Asia centric bias(perception of beauty)dictates that the selfie camera makes subject's skin pale and overly processed. Would have been better if there was an option to turn off completely. The only way to avoid it is to not use portrait mode because you can't turn it off. I get it, though, better to concentrate on your home market of 1.2billions people than worry about the West's preferences. Later in the Q4 this year, when the Mate 20/20 Pro comes out, will be the first time Huawei's own Kirin chips will be same generation as their competitors. They have always been a generation behind before, but they may even be first to market with 7nm this time. Now is not the time to buy their phones TBH, although the P20s are really close. As for Oneplus, however, I just think they knocked it out of the park & this is the right time to buy it. I was gonna wait for the 6T, but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger now...

I think OP6 is the winner in auto mode. I heard for manual modes and the other modes like for the P20 Pro, it's arguably the best right now. I have an OP6 and it takes great pictures, but I think I may buy a P20 Pro just to test and use it for night shots.

The P20 just has the best camera hardware. Most of the imperfections you see between the shots are due to the processing software. You can easily update software, but you can't update hardware. Huawei just doesn't have the best processing, but may get fixed in an update. But as far as just what's on the phone, the P20 has the best and most versatile camera system on the market.

after a few days use of a p20 pro, it's going back... auto mode is awful, over-sharpening and 'keep steady, sharpening' (after the photo) message even in bright light. Maybe if 'Google' had time to tweak the software, they can improve stuff like this but after doing some blind tests, most people pick out my 2 year old S7's pics ! However, Pro mode and Night mode work well, but for me, most shots I take, I don't want to have to faff around. Also, word of warning, the inbuilt gallery seems to add yet more 'enhancing' to pictures so use a 3rd party app or view online once uploaded for a true representation. To get the best shots, use 40MP and Pro mode, but then you lose out on zoom and hdr. So in some ways, the phones brilliant but then when you need it go be good, it's not. Bit frustrating tbh because I was so wanting it to be good in auto mode. The AI mode, tends to just over saturate colours, again, personal preference but can make situations look too fake. AI is at least now disabled by default. People Huawei forums complaining about the the same over-sharpening and almost cartoon like software processing being applied... there's a 48 page thread at the time of writing. Maybe some of these things will be managed in future software releases, but for me, they need to give people the ability to turn off the processing if they want to. At the moment, you can't and it's hit and miss when gets applied.

If you do what most people do and pick up your phone and take an auto pic, or selfie pic...the op6 is the clear winner. If you think of yourself as an artist and take black and white pics or like to zoom in from the top of stadiums, the P20 pro is your choice. oneplus 4k 60 is king. i have both these phones. and what i can say is video is awesome on oneplus and the image is better on p20 pro. the thing about p20 pro is that its aimed toward someone with a little better experience in cameras i think. because if you take the time to get a good shot and treat it as if it were a dslr, you get way better results. whats the point of a dslr if you only shoot on auto? same concept.

definetly the op6, camera overall was better with the op6 imo. p20 pro is a good phone but for the price it's not good enough compared to the op6.

P20 pro but op6 has better clearer front facing cam but if you need a bit smoother face and look prettier maybe the p20 hehe

Overall the review is good but the night shots are all under lights or good lighting.. there should have been more night shots with little lighting..both indoors and outdoors..

I just got the OnePlus 6 and was disappointed to find out that the front facing videocamera crops so much of the frame than the front facing photo camera. For vlogging, I find it very disappointing on that part. What do you think? Is it possible to get this fixed if they update the software somehow? Is there a way to fix it on the phone itself? Does this bother you?
