Nope, I disassembled the phone and clear the moisture inside. Then I covered the phone parts with the dry paper towel for 2 days and the phone survived. It works normally now.

Mr wits do you think splashes can cause the water to enter through alert slider or some other hole. I have been somewhat careless through 5 years of owning the phone and let water on the phone(not putting in pool btw). But phone is still fine! I trusted the basic waterproofing

hush3r True I wouldn’t recommend anyone take there phone underwater since the resistance is meant more for accidents and rain. No phone manufacturer covers water damage under warranty.

Lakshay Singh Just want to say that the waterproof tests are under perfect water conditions and without moving of the phone (when you move your phone under water, there's extre pressure). In lakes, etc. the water can be very dirty and damage the isolation of the phone. The same thing goes with pools (chlor and other acids) and the sea. Also note, that Samsung doesn't garantee you, that the phone is water proof. When there's a damage on your phone because of water, Samsung doesn't pay anything.

best and most thorough waterproof test, because you flip the phone on its sides to make sure every angle gets exposed upwards, which makes it more vulnerable to the water entering through an unprotected hole. good job

Dialectical Monist it's all about how deep the phone is in the water. The deeper it is, the more water pressure there is, and this makes it easier for water to get in the phone.

Apple didn’t remove the headphone jack to make it waterproof lol. They wanted to make the phone as thin as possible, the headphone jack would make it too thick

Broodjekaas ! still not true because the phone is still thick . they removed the headphone jack to benefit more from the lightning port so everything sold for the iphone will give them a cut. there are thinner phones than the iphone x and they still has the headphone jack.

Why not? People sit in their bathtubs playing with their phone so making them waterproof isn't that far fetched of a request. As for me, I accidentally left my OnePlus 3T in my shorts and washed it. That's why I am looking for a waterproof option - because I am clumsy like that. In the meantime, I am stuck with my wife's old iPhone 5 😭
