Lmao I was literally about to say the same. What a terrible example to use to highlight the fact that the camera retracts when it senses a drop. I see it natural for One+ to bump up their prices since their main competitors have done it already (Samsung, Apple, Huawei etc). Anyhow I also see that it is natural that the prices will come down eventually. What I don't like is that the manufactures presents a new phone every year, that is just ridiculous, especially when the new phones only have small improvements. WTH, people are still using OP3T, and are still satisfyed with their phone.

I thought the price was a little high for a OnePlus phone, but they hit so many QoL features that I can’t wait for. A huge reason I’m going with this phone is because of their new trade in program. I got quoted $470 for my 64gb iPhone X which is $140 more than Best Buy and means it will only cost me $200 to make the upgrade (before their 10% student discount). I’m really going to miss wireless charging, and feel the size increase/curved edges will be a bit to get used to, but man I can’t wait for the 90hz 800nit AMOLED goodness

Given the great specifications of this device as well as its great performane, software, display, and battery, I think it will be totally worth the money you pay for it. Keep in mind that if another company, such as samsung or Apple, were to build a device with the same features as those of OP7 Pro, they would have charged you over 1000 bucks. Thus, in my view, we should appreciate the pricing strategy of OnePlus company.

I think it could be a great thing for other devices, like smartwatches, smart wearables and stuff, but i think it has no place to exist on a smartphone. I'm used to having my phone charge in 40 min, and i can't see myself downgrading to hours without a good reason. Then again, it could be a great thing if you scarcely use your smartphone, but that's not many users nowadays

Good job for not straight up calling it a good price, because its not. Only in comparison does this "suddenly" become better value, but then people forget, those phones are also overpriced. OnePlus made its name by good phones at better prices, the sad part is, they are missing the point. We dont need the latest and greatest with OnePlus, only a good solid phone for a 'respectable' price, and this isn't it.

It literally has feature no other phone has. 90hz 7 inch notchless display. UFS storage, only the fold was going to have it. Fastest in-screen fingerprint reader. Those smartphone prices are ridiculous Why would u pay $1000-$1500 for a phone? You can call with a 5$ phone you can use the Internet with 200€ phones and you can use the newest apps with 250$ or let it be 350$ phones so what is the reason for buying that expensive phones? It's not like I can't afford such a Phone so I need to trash talk to feel better, I just want to know the reason for wasting that much money for a phone that is just slightly better than an inexpensive one for less than half the price. Wouldn't it be better for spending that money on a laptop or a Pc or whatever that makes more sense?

Some people use their phones all day and stare at it considerably more than a laptop or any other screen. This has measurable improvements over other phones in multiple areas. What you're saying is akin to "why buy a $1000 graphics card when you can play most games on an Intel gpu at 640x480 with 5 fps." Yes why have plates and forks when you can just as easily eat with your hands out of the cooking pot, who would spend money on such frivolous conveniences? Some people can afford more expensive things, and find value in those things. It's a free country. Don't like it, don't but it. Enjoy your flip phone.

Stan V typing this on my iPhone 6s lol I know u can always answer with minimum specs are enough for minimum requirements but what I meant to say is that the price-performance ratio at new high end phones starts becoming ridiculous Same ist for gpus like the 2080 ti (at least the release price) Phones have a very high price drop rate (well, Apple less than most other companies) so it is mostly not worth buying a new high end phone for like 1000-1500 bucks

@@uneven5622 Could not agree more. 6 years ago i would have been all over this, but as time has gone by these devices are getting to a price point that is not justifiable anymore. Even a laptop priced at $1000 can be considered overpriced depending on the situation, so a phones reaching this price are insane. Shame though, beautiful device.

@@uneven5622 All high end electronics have diminishing returns when it comes to cutting edge hardware, especially when there's 1st gen tech present. Is this some new concept to you? Because you're acting like it's this world-shaking epiphany that no one else is aware of. I own $1000 headphones. Do they sound 100x better than $10 earphones? Fuck no. But they do shit that no other cheaper headphone can do, and that has value that's completely relative to the user's perception of that value. If all you want is something that plays music, then you can get $2 earphones from the dollar store and be happy and act like everyone who pays more for better sound has a brain disease. Being arrogant about one's frugality is extremely weird.

@@sk3tch4d Every single piece of electronics is overpriced if you just wait 2 years. An item of the same power/features will be less than 1/2 the price. Every single CPU upgrade I've bought in the 2000's can be eclipsed by a $50 bargain bin intel CPU right now, and I spent hundreds each time. You don't sound like a genius pointing this out bro. Moore's law and the diminishing returns of cutting edge hardware aren't amazing secrets no one's aware of.

I think that anyone that thinks the seven pro is too big just has small hands or if you're a guy that has given to large hands when when you shop for your gloves phone will feel just fine in your hands. also I prefer the fast charging over the wireless charging and I don't have to plug anything into my phone cuz I have the magnetic chargersI bought them on Amazon and once you put in the little magnet plug into your phone it's stays in simply put the plugs need them in your car or at your house or workand take the other little adapters and save them for a rainy day in case for some strange reason you lose the one that's plugged into your phone all you have to do is just put your phone near the cord and the magnet does the rest it's only for charging not for data transfer.

I do use it. It is convenient. When I'm about to go to sleep, I just drop my phone on the charger. I don't care if it is slow, it can charge all night. Through the day, I can just check something and drop it again on the charger. Wireless charging is not meant for "my phone is at 10% and I have to go out in 40mins", it's just for making the everyday more convenient. I use a Nexus 6 so even if I can only charge it at 5W, I love it. And all that with zero wear to the USB port. If I need battery fast, I just use a quick charger.
