From the 11 to 8T?? Wow, this phone really must be awsome! What were your thoughts / your reasons to go for the 8T?
@ChahtaAnumpa4 жыл бұрын
The iphone 11 was a good phone but it lacked in a few areas. The charging was slow, the battery was lack luster since I'm a power user, I use my all through the day watching KZbin, listening to music and video calling and texting. I reply to emails constantly on my phone and I shop almost exclusively on my phone too. So I have a lot of apps including media streaming like netflix, hulu etc. So having a phone that can actually go all day without needing to spend an hour or two on the charger was a must. I bought the fastest charger it could handle but I stilled needed to charge 3 times a day. Which was a pain, I'm on the go a lot during the day so I don't have much time to just sit somewhere and charge. I also have a charging brick in my backpack but nobody wants to deal with more shit when they don't have too lol. The resolution isn't great, the iphone 11 looks great, but nowhere near the one plus 8T. I'm in college, I do programming and design and UX development. I'm also a gamer. So when I go to college, I bring my tablet and random extra stuff, my sennheiser headphones and my phone. Plus all chargers and books. I try my best to keep everything as minimal as possible. So when I'm in class and I need to work on something while doing something for work I use my phone and my tablet. Well it sucks when I need to switch because the iphone doesn't support the wide enough gamut that I need to see if a specific layout looks good or give any feedback. So unless I bring another device which further adds to the bulk I'm constantly shifting apps and progress between the two which is tiresome. The camera is great on the iphone but I'm not like a big picture person with my phone. I have a dslr for that. So that's a mute point. The performance is great but only when you're not multitasking. I constantly have 6-10 things going all the time. I've noticed that the iphone is beyond sluggish in that regard. The 8t I have now has 12gb of ram. More than enough to keep things going and still be snappy when I reply to emails and messages. For example, my iphone would get slow to the point where I'd type out a message, then it would take like a second for that message to actually type out. Like it needed to catch up to my finger typing skills lol Build quality was great, albeit the screen was brittle as hell. I broke the screen 6 times in 4 months. I replaced them myself so that saved me a ton of money. But I haven't had a single issue with my 8T in those terms. Last but not least, fluid integration with my other devices. I use a tab S7 5G tablet. I use a Linux kernal for work and a windows pc for gaming. No matter how you slice it, android just works better when dealing with those devices. Those are the reasons why I switched and why I'll stay with one plus for the foreseeable future. Hope it helps!

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I mean yeah OnePlus 8T is a great phone EXCEPT THE CAMERA! I have been using it for a while after my iPhone XR. The photos are super duper weird. It bumps up the contrast and drags down the saturation to unreal levels, in fact upto the point that even an iPhone 6 would have better colours! The portrait mode is straight up lifeless. The ultrawide lacks detail and even a slight hand movement translates to unusable photo standards. The shutter lag is apparent and the post processing totally changes the photo from what you see on the screen, that too in a bad way. I was looking forward towards other smartphones but the Huawei had no Google support, OnePlus 8 pro had a curved display, the galaxy S20+ had an exynos processor and iPhone 11 had an LCD screen. I would have called OnePlus 8T as the best phone till date only if it had an image processing software that matched at least Samsung's! But now it's an ordinary phone which fails at one of the most important aspect of the phone and that is CAMERA! The phone is not bad in itself, but it disappoints as in it could have been one of the best smartphones only if the camera wasn't a caveat. I would have loved to spend 100$ more for a camera that at least matched iPhone SE levels.
@AhuraMazdaAhriman4 жыл бұрын
Getting sick and tired of reviewers harping about 'mediocre camera' when the pictures look perfectly fine through my eyes. You can only see marginal differences when you compare the pictures from other phones side by side. Sure, iPhone 12 and Galaxy Note S20 take slightly better pictures but if picture quality is your be all and end all, then just get a DSLR from Nikon/Canon or top of the line mirrorless from Sony since I'm pretty sure those cameras beat the shit out of whatever tiny camera modules used by Apple or Samsung!

I know Samsung S20 beats OnePlus in a lot of ways such as the camera, but I feel I just can't accept Samsung's locked bootloader (no custom ROMs, mods or root access). First things first, charging overnight is terrible for your battery health. Even with the smart charging technology where it stops receiving the electrons, the power is still going through the cable so it's doing its work. Secondly, charging with fast charge is very helpful to avoid that problem exactly but even then you shouldn't charge it fully. 60% is the threshold where battery degradation becomes a real thing but 60% is way too low for a day so 80-90% is the sweet spot. Never go 100%.

I really don't know why the 8T would need wireless charging when it features 65 w warp charging which is way more reliable. I also don't know what he's talking about when he says that the phone doesn't have gorilla Glass. It actually features gorilla Glass five front and back. He is also making a strange comparison between the OnePlus 8T and the Samsung Galaxy s20fe. Go to a carrier and ask to check out the Samsung Galaxy s20fe. It is a completely plastic build that feels like a $200 Chinese budget phone. Of course, Samsung put a lot of good features into the phone but, none that outweigh the OnePlus 8T.

i'm still using one plus 6t .... and oh boy it's great.... I think one plus devices are really good.... it's fast, durable, the battery is good enough and the battery life is still decent... my past smartphone was pixel which was good but the battery was not that good .... it died pretty fast.... but the camera of pixel is tooooooo gooood.

Would this be better than the iPhone 11 Pro? Considering both but only afford one. Pls help. Preference would be battery life, standby time mostly, perfomance for daily use and app flawlessness, camera video and photo and lastly update (would need something that can last 3 to 4 yrs. Thanks in advance

6:40 tech youtubers are soooo dramatic when talking about the camera, these pics are not that different. I bet if you did a blind comparison on which is which it'd be a toss up.
