This mod is fantastic, but I have one issue. GTA IV captures the essence of 2008 NYC, a version of the city we’ll likely never see again. While the subway redesign looks amazing, it feels too clean compared to GTA IV's gritty, graffiti-filled vibe. The "Preservation Project" should stay true to its name and preserve the original look. Modders should include an option to switch between the old and new designs, keeping the essence of the original interior intact.

I totally agree here. LC feels too clean and the lighting that's used to light Los Santos doesn’t really capture GTA IV’s tone. It would be cool if the modders could develop a lighting style closer to the original while still giving it that modern feel. Like more pedestrians and traffic could also help bring it to life more and give the mod that early NYC vibe like you were talking about. The good news is It’s still early and the modders said more is to come. Hopefully Take-Two doesn’t strike it down like everything else fun.

The subway itself wasn't changed at all, all of the original details are preserved as they were in IV. The stuff we haven't got round to yet it timecycle and lighting/weather conditions, which are a fundamental part of IV's gritty "mood". Lighting and shading in the subway was updated but the foggy and gritty nature of the atmosphere there and everywhere else in the city have yet to be added. It's something we want to incorporate but not to the overly exaggerated extent depicted in IV, but rather somewhere in the middle.

I get where you're coming from-that's how you first experienced the game. You were so excited to play that you didn’t care about the details because you were simply "happy". The only way to truly recapture that feeling would be to find an old PC similar to the one you had back then and play it at those same frame rates to recapture that feeling again.

It's not exactly easy to replicate in GTA 5, especially for NPC scenarios which is what that is; in codewalker, you essentially have white cubes and lines linking them. It's a constant trial and error until you get it looking somewhat decent, but it'll never be exact.

You’re telling me! It’s the worst landing I’ve ever seen, and I’ve flown with Ryanair twice. Once in 2020 when the borders temporarily reopened onboard an eerie socially distanced Boeing 737-800 gasping through a cloth mask, and again in 2022 with restrictions completely lifted once and for all. On both occasions, I couldn’t believe that the plane and all its tyres were intact. The landing was that brutal, but at least the pilot had the decency to do a flare. I obviously can’t say the same for the landing in this video though.

Someone was right. If there was one thing that bothered me about this was how different the driving was in GTA 5 while driving on the Map. It's being asked in the Discord if people would like the option to have GTA 4 driving physics while playing on this map which is something I voted for.

Just install DriveV. It's really simple to install since it has an OIV installer. There is also a separate version that modifies the vehicles in the IV vehicle pack. That's probably the mod they are going to use anyways.

I want to fight like Niko Bellic with all his counter attacks and everthing. I cried playing gta 5 for the first time noting they removed it.. big disappointment..then I saw the car physics.. like toy's but when you crash into another car it feels like a mountain and nothing happens...I tried the bike for an epic "flying star crash" but he falls like a sticky sandsack ... I cried so hard after realizing that everything is missing. Even the realistic cops arresting npcs or me...everthing was gone. Even the old games have this feature but in gta 5 they're just shooting for standing next to them without looking. In the past they always only shot from the second star. I don't need to talk about paramedics and firefighters and their behavior in gta 4. Everything was better. In GTA5 they just look stupid and write something on a clipboard. Everything gta has always been about was missing in gta 5. The only thing that was good was the tuning of cars... oh oh I forgot I CAN'T F***ING CROUCH in gta 5

I have played this amazing mod but still kinda felt something was missing. Some of the minor improvements (if possible) i would love to see in LC Restoration Project: 1. The ammunition stores and burger shot are still empty , replace them with gta 5 ammuntion interior maybe . the hospitals also empty should have npcs lying on the bed 2. The TV in apartment needs to be fixed its missing texture and just a white sheet 3. Replace Pay n Spray with LS Customs interior so we can modify Cars in Liberty City 4. Some of the ladders missing collision needs to be fixed
