@@MobTyz i think i know what screenshots you are talking about, when the source code was leaked last year it confirmed a liberty city dlc was planned. but it isnt like its difficult porting over a map, the only somewhat difficult part is rewriting pedestrian movements

Absolutely this. San Andreas was phenomenal for it’s time and the scale was unprecedented at the time, GTA V is a masterpiece aesthetically and the character swaps was a really cool idea, but GTA 4 feels like the most “complete” GTA game to me, it’s exactly what a GTA game should be. The map was great, so was the story, and it was incredibly gritty too. I feel like it’s the best showing of a real true crime game in the GTA series

@benjaminalston8884 Thanks for the reply. I couldn't agree more with your statement. GTA 4 was the most grounded in reality. It really showed the struggle of what so many immigrants like my family in NYC faced when they first arrived here. I especially resonated with Niko Belic as a protagonist and his backstory. He was a serbian immigrant from the war-torn former Yugoslavia. My own family comes from this region , so I was completely captivated by his story and background. I was, however, really disappointed with the voice actor who played Niko Belic. The accent the voice actor portrayed was atrocious. Even the very few lines he spoke in Serbian were butchered. That being said, the DLC that accompanied the game is still my all-time favorite to this day. It was phenomenal.

@@benjaminalston8884San andreas was phenomenal, but gta v map has been boring and small since the release. The city is nice and packed, but everything around the city is just filler land. Many people like myself were not pleased with the map in 2012 when we came from gta iv city map. Also the leaks for gta v were so good that they almost ruined the release and ofcourse we believed everything. With gta vi you cant trust anything.

Hop in a plane or helicopter, and you'll notice blips on the mini map in each map's general direction. :) Also, be sure to visit the playgrounds. You may find something familiar there. :D

It was a brilliant idea to release this during the Holidays when legal departments and law offices are closed. This way more people can get it and archive it before it inevitably gets taken down come the first week of January when all those pesky lawyers are back in the office.

Highly doubt it will happen that quick. It seems like take two only come after projects they feel offer direct competition to their latest project. Mods for the HD three survived for near two decades until definitive ed was on its way out. Unless they have plans to remaster 4, which they might not start to consider til about 2028, I don't see anything happening. This isn't they craziest mod out there.

The patrolling police cars - is it me or does this feature seem to disappear from the games as they get older? I remember stumbling across police in Vice City and San Andreas, but any time I revisit the game I only ever see cops if they are there for me specifically - and half of those don't seem to chase much like they used to either. Same goes for GTA5, where upon release the police seemed to be a lot more active patrolling around the city, but if i revisit the game now - there's no cops around unless I have a wanted level.. It just feels like a feature that's always been there at the start of the game, but gradually fades away as the game gets older or more updated and I've never really understood why.

patrolling cops are also broken i think, they don't get tasked properly (i.e game's systems or idk how cop AI works but they don't get chase criminal task, only cruise around UNLESS they we're aggro'd prior either by player shooting near them, them spotting the player, etc) which is why you might see cop cars just drive normally when in pursuit/search, but spawned ones are usually tasked to move towards your last known location (which in vanilla, is your player's position) i think only mission row has cops patrolling (excluding army patrols that drive in fort zancudo, as while they share the police AI, they aren't really cops)

Having a new city in online would be great, but then again they’d likely be forced to fill it with side content like missions, deathmatches, races, etc just so theres a reason to go there aside from only exploring. The only nitpick I can see here would be the aspect of time travel. The two maps being set apart in both civilian and municipal traffic. I wonder if the makers of the Mod are planning on using 2010’s era NY style plates to resemble “modern” (those quotes doing a lot of work) Liberty City plates, and switching out the LCPD’s Merits and Staniers for Stanier LEs and (I believe the modding community calls them) Vapid Torrences. As well as of course updating LC’s pedestrian traffic with the more modern array seen in SA, probably though also mixing in the older traffic just a bit as well back in San Andreas with some of the older cars.
