good discussion guys.....my BFF suffered a TBI when his humvee was attacked & blown up...He was the only survivor of 8 guys...He woke up @ Ramstein ..punched the lieutenant Dr....woke up again later. He's different in that he couldn't deal with the daily stress of being around regular people....what really helped him was being encouraged to hike the Pacific Crest Trail...he's married now , has a kid , lives in Mexico where it's much more peaceful for him....healing definitely can happen in different ways but it really helps if the right people are around @ the right times

I cannot agree more with you sirs about the benefits of running and excercise. Being present as well, first knowing what present is. Thank you for the many awesome videos. Gotta run!

Just finished deployment with mortuary affairs and they are big on mental health and have an entire resiliency team for us at AFMAO. Felt it was very beneficial and would be cool to see it implemented AF wide.

It's funny, I was just messaging Peach yesterday about a lot of these very same topics. It's awesome to hear from you guys about the mental side of the house considering it's a huge part of not just your effectiveness in your career, but life in general. You guys are absolutely right, and one way I've learned to look at things being a young dude is that you need to know yourself and have that baseline of who you are as a person before you can even begin to build and branch out. If you don't know who you are, how you work, and what your motivators are then you can't have a solid foundation to refer back to when life comes knocking.

I appreciate all this information so much! Just starting the enlistment process and I am still trying to decide my job being 22 and having a wife of 3 years and a 1 year old son. It's hard to decide even though I have an amazing supportive wife, knowing if I choose and more importantly qualify for any special warfare jobs to say hey it's ok this is what you are ment to do and they will be ok for the time you have to be gone. I appreciate that you all come together to talk about all the details and try to answer all the questions you possibly can I cannot thank you all enough!

Very similar situation but a 28 year old here! When are you planning to enlist?
@colemarkwith80474 жыл бұрын
@@duckboy07 I'm already in the process just getting studied up to get the score needed on the asvab to not only to get combat control which is what I really feel the pastion to do, but also to leave myself proud that I didn't just meet the bare minimum standard. I appreciate you reaching out can I ask how it affected your family dynamic with the length of the pipeline and time apart. Did you get chances to see them threw out the pipeline like between training stages or anything ? Any information at this point is helpful

@@colemarkwith8047 oh I absolutely have not even started the enlistment process. Have to wait a year-ish due to bureaucratic reasons. So looking at 29+ years old when I'm enlisting. Hope you crush the events and get selected for that A & S! And I too am trying to find out what it's like in the pipeline..I would definitely love all the training but wondering if it's at the cost of almost never seeing my family

Your mind can be your best ally or your worst foe. Train your mind to be on your side through selection and throughout life, and success will always be imminent.
