Nicely played! This game is so much fun when you draw into the attachments you want and your deck plan comes together. I'm a little sad to hear that your changing decks completely as I was looking forward to seeing the Ents stomp some more orcs! And I'll second the question regarding how much you look through the encounter deck to build your decks. I always played the first game as blind as possible so I could be surprised. Maybe that's why I almost always lost the first game. 😁

Dave thank you for watching! I get your question and I will say this: When I play off camera, I try to use the same deck for an entire cycle, but sometimes it is just not possible. I also go in "blind" for my first run and then tweak the deck here and there if need be. But since on camera, it may be a bit boring to watch us lose immediately as I have no way of dealing with certain threats, I have played these quests before and know "somewhat" what is coming etc. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!!!

One Stop Co-op Shop Thanks for the response Colin. It makes a lot of sense that you'd make some changes from your normal play approach for the camera. And I think it's definitely interesting to see different deck themes, and also that you're playing a deck someone else built as well. Looking forward to seeing what else you and Steve came up with.

I agree on Ent Draught on Beregond. Star Wars Destiny uses the term "spot" which just means you must have someone of that type. It's different that restrictions on only being playable on that specific type of character. I can imagine at the end, Gimli claiming that Legolas' ability is OP and doesn't fully count. =D A full cycle would be great. How much do you look at the upcoming scenario before building a deck?

Cool thank you David! I thought so too. HAHAHA I love your thematic tie, I should have said that!! :) Normally I will say I do NOT look at the encounter deck prior to playing, the fun is in experiencing it for the first time. Recording however is a different story. I want to make sure I interpret things correctly, and don't get blown out of the water so quickly we can't enjoy the story. So that is why I am building different decks etc. Hope that is ok! Normally I recommend trying to do a cycle with the same decks just small tweaks!

Makes sense. Spirit Island and the Harry Dresden game do a good job of charting which types of things the deck has. I can see that (probably made by fans online) as a good compromise. A fan-made chart showing how much questing vs combat vs etc.

Oh yes!! I have even played just the first scenario 5 times and enjoyed them all. Cards come in different order etc. Thus game does not lack in replayability!

When Gandalf did the 4 damage on the orc you didn’t take in account the orcs armor. Is Gandalf damage supposed to bypass the armor?

Yup! Any damage done outside of combat is not affected by armor. Hope that helps!

@@OneStopCoopShop I know its been 8 months but, does a shadow effect that would say "deal 2 damage to each of your characters" would be affected by armor since it is in combat but not directly an attack?

@@sumho7532 good question!! If a shadow card says to deal damage that does not take into account shields. It is all direct damage! Hope that helps.

Can you respond with an action to the side quest and discard cards for Eyowen's ability before discarding for the event?

Great question! When you are resolving encounter cards, you cannot do an action, only a response! You can do actions after you have resolved the cards you draw, and before you compare willpower to threat, but that is it. Hope that makes sense!
