I don't have a "grow room" but last year I grew a few plants, very successfully for my own use, in my 10 X10 basement room completely sealed off to everything except the entry door to access the room, no windows no vents, etc, all concrete. I had an LED grow light, a dehumidifier and a box fan with a charcoal filter mated to it for odor control and another box fan for air circulation. The only time I would go in was when I watered. Grow light was remote controlled. It was surprisingly simple although I had some fights with soil gnats and some powdery mildew but the end product was excellent. The only fail was odor control, especially during flowering. I'm trying to decide if a stand alone fan and filter(similar to what people use in a grow tent) would work vs a reasonably sized(???) ozone generator. The ozone generator is tempting. On the other hand, I might be able to create negative pressure with a fan/filter. Any advice would be appreciated.

use 2 carbon filters one inside the tent and one as the ehaust outside
@TheTrainstation3 жыл бұрын
You absolutely need two filters, one on each end of the fan. Ideally you would also have a fan running continuously in the room for extra air scrubbing.

My fan was kinda too fast for the filter to properly work so i simply closed all the openings on my tent and now air comes in trough micro holes on tent which makes fan push air slower... thus it has more time to clean the air coming trough it

Why use an inline ozone generator with a carbon filter that eats 99.9% of odors? If i buy an ozone gen, do i need filters still?
@OneStopGrowShopHydroponics5 жыл бұрын
Hey, an Ozone gives you a few benefits. It's there as an extra layer of protection against the strongest smells. Also, an in-room ozone generator will also inhibit mould growth and bacterial infections throughout your grow room, keeping everything sterile and disease free. Thanks for your comment!

@@OneStopGrowShopHydroponics i heard too much ozone can be dangerous, do they make a device that controls the amount of ozone in the air to keep it safe and still affective? Perhaps an Ozone-a-stat maybe?????
@OneStopGrowShopHydroponics5 жыл бұрын
@@chugginbeers you're correct, but the in-room ozone generators we sell have safety features built-in in the form of timers. For the plug in ones, you'd typically have them outside your grow space and again, you can have them on a timer to come on for a few minutes and then go off. Ozone is an incredible tool when used correctly, giving you that invaluable safety net. If you want to learn more about how to use them effectively / safely you can give us a call! 01782 749955

Hey guys, what would you recommend carbon filter and fan for a 60x60x140 cm sized grow tent. Can you also get a bigger carbon filter for more odour removal? or would this damage the plants and or ruin the air inside the grow tent. Any response is appreciated and a nicely made video.

I live in a state where recreational marijuana growing and smoking is legal. So the odors of my grow tent need not be completely masked. So to cut costs of buy a carbon filter. Can I buy cut to fit activated carbon filter sheets and out them around and inside the end of my grow tent's exhaust duct
@OneStopGrowShopHydroponics5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, Interesting question. We would still recommend buying a carbon filter, they are built to maintain the correct airflow of your fan, you might find you're either putting your fan under too much load or not getting any benefit with filter sheets. As you're not overly concerned about smells, For us we would probably go with a cheaper filter to maintain your fan & do the best job.
@Eryan7245 жыл бұрын
Man you dont need a filter. Make your home smell good. Its filtering what goes out of the tent so it doesnt influence the plants. Maybe increases airflow
