"One who sins, regrets, repents.." Each of these attribute is not even a requirement in the shahada ( the pledge of allegiance of Islam) The belief in the five pillars of Islam has nothing to do with neither of the things you named.

I am a born muslim. 21 years old. Recently I have started practicing Islam. Before that I felt the same. I was happy from outside but I was always missing something out. It was so painful believe me. I look like an extrovert but I was hiding my pain for many years. As I have started practicing Islam. I finally feel like I am at home. I am thankful my family is not very against it. But sometimes they hurt me by their remarks as I have started doing parda also. Also, when I try to tell them something Islam, I end up being the bad person. I pray for them.
