If you haven't already, you should watch the animated official lyric video for "Way" that SM came out with before this live performance. Onew wrote the lyrics for this song and the lyrics make this song even more beautiful. As you may know, "One Star (Way)" is a pre-release single that Onew released especially for fans to tide us over until the release of his second solo album sometime in the first part of next year. His album was supposed to be released in September, but things have been delayed. The song is about a couple who are longing to be reunited with each other. As the song goes along, the two realize their love is bound by fate. As the lyrics of the chorus say, “At a slightly different time / In the invisible world / One star in the same room / You and I have one name and one face.” Knowing that Onew wrote the lyrics for this song makes it that much more meaningful and emotional. I can really feel him putting his whole heart into this song and performance. This is such a perfect song for this time of year. Full of the warm and fuzzy feelings for the holidays. I think this song is destined to become a new Kpop holiday classic. It's definitely going on my holiday playlist, and it will be one I recommend anytime someone asks me for holiday song recommendations. The chills I get listening to this song seem to only grow everytime I hear it, I'm not sure I will ever become numb to the beauty of their voices and the feeling this song creates. This song really highlights what an amazing vocalists Onew is and it showcases how hard he has been working lately with his vocal training. He has always been an amazing singer, but this just shows how he is continuously pushing himself to become even better. Onew has recently said he has been focusing on his vocal training, experimenting with new ways of singing in order to showcase his full vocal range. He is now feeling more responsibility as one of SHINee's main vocalist to make sure he is able to maintain the same vocal quality that he is known for, as he ages. However, Onew is known in the industry as the male vocalist with the most consistent vocals. He has been one of SHINee's main vocalists since debut and he is recognized as one of the top vocalists in Kpop since even before debut. Onew was only one of two people ever personally cast by Lee SooMan, the founder of SM, and he was chosen at age 16 for his outstanding vocal ability. Onew's vocals are so good that as a rookie he was even a vocal coach and mentor to a lot of SM's trainees. Punch's and Onew's voices are perfect together, and I couldn't imagine a better pairing for this song. But truthfully, who doesn't sound amazing singing with Onew? He is one of the most coveted male vocalists in the industry that all singers dream of getting the chance to sing with. And if you have ever seen him on programs such as Sea of Hope, you have seen how he can be paired with almost anyone and somehow his voice is able to highlight the other singers' voices, and take the song to a whole new level, no matter their vocal style. He has such impressive vocal talent and understanding of how to use his voice that he has the ability to compliment the vocal timbre and style of anyone he is singing with.

I love Shinee. Everyone is super talented but Onew is my bias. His voice is just beautiful there is something that just pulls at my heartstrings when I listen to him. I don’t understand Korean but I always felt music is an universal language. You just feel it. Hope to see more Onew reaction.

Our beautiful Jinki bringing us a beautiful song. Indeed, he makes those glorious high notes and warm low notes look so easy (I'm no expert, but I think he spanned about three octaves in this song). Punch is my favourite OST singer, and I'd highly recommend her version of Spring, Spring, Spring (from At a Distance Spring is Green). And yes, Onew is just the most gorgeous and generous collaborator. He adjusts to his co-duet, and looks at them as if both admiring and encouraging. We've seen this several times not just in Shinee, but also in Sea of Hope, which is why they, especially Suhyun and Rosé, just love singing with him. Onew's eyes are also incredibly expressive, and he conveys so much with just a subtle look. It always gets to me whenever his turns his face upwards while he's singing. There's a wealth of emotion in his eyes, and you wonder what he's thinking, even as his voice transports you into another world.

Onew always matches the energy and the tone of the song and his duet partner. We know he has explosive vocal capabilities but he shows restraint and is careful to do only what is needed in the song. I'd love to see him do a non - SHINee duet where he just absolutely goes off and shows everyone what he can do.
