Onewheel GT Update / Modifications

Foot fatigue had set me on a mission to find a cure. After watching tons of KZbin videos on decided on giving the GT a little overhaul. I swapped in the enduro tire, WTF Standard rails, Airpad Foot Pad, and the Hexagon Ignite grip tape. She is now truly a beautiful beast. Im floating on a cloud.

🤣 that’s after camping on the porch for a few days. 🤣 I was proud of myself. Caught em 2 days in a row. 1st day the driver was just chilling in the truck parked. Reading a book. I didn’t think it was the actual truck but it was. Told em go get me me 🤣😭

i gave up on them live savers too! I had them on my XR no problem. The GT live savers is made of vibranium or something...ended up in the trash haha

Man them lifesavers whooped my ass 🤣 I gotta try em again but I took a beating. The frustration was on another level. Tried every way to heat em nothin. Most definitely. I tried all the tricks mu guy. Boiled em, heat gun. Shit had me feeling like a frustrated kid 🤣 I’ll try again next tire change.

How did you buypass leveling the board now that Future Motion doesn't allow us to re-level our boards?

I never leveled it again. Never updated after the haptic buzz. Still floats great. Fat as hell too.

I tried it all. Boiled em. Brought a heat gun. I just gave up. I don’t many things that could have me that pissed off. Like if it they were a person we’re fighting for sure. 🤣😂 I still got em tho. I’ll try again next tire change.

@@mattnguyen1125 you have to try. Good thing is they’re cheap as ever so if you don’t use em no big deal but many people have gotten them on so you might not have a problem. Whatever you do let me know how it goes. I wish you luck and hood spirits 🤣😂😭

Yeah dude! Converted my stock mint monster last weekend. Got the chrome low riders. Still on stock slick though. Kind of want to hear more about the enduro. It looks sharp. I feel like I need to try the street pro 2 as well. I stay on the streets for the most part. Make sure to try new shapings. Flow got weird for me with the low riders. I remember trying Apex on stock and going "oh hell no!" Try it again with the low riders, and that's my new shaping mode. Carving is so much better and easier to do. You going to Stokebird i February? I just booked my flight for stupid cheap.

I want to try the street pro 2 but I don’t think I’ll be able to ever switch. I’m ready to order another enduro. Unbelievable smooth. I’m ready to go on a long journey. Just waiting for my fender. I was riding apex pretty much all the time. Ive been in flow since the overhaul. I switch around though. Ride pretty much street. The board feels like a sweet beast.

@@DSC1320 man on man. I can’t say exactly cause I did so much at once but it’s a totally different ride. Quicker. Lower. Tires wider. Smoother. Definitely lower now. I’ve touched the back on the ground twice coming down hill. I’ll do a review on em.

​@@DSC1320 i got some footage today. coming from stock gt experience only, im having to relearn things again. going fast is easier, but im more fearful about clipping something with the nose while im accelerating. im not sure if thats a valid fear or not. im basing that off of when i have to slow down fast, my tail definitely drags every time. (ill be posting footage of that) based on my limited experience and skill level, i think it was a mistake to switch to something that changed my clearance. i should have gotten the standard wtfs first. im going to keep working to adapt to the low riders, but will probably be on the look out for blem/used set of standard rails to try out. also think switching to the enduro will help things. im on stock slick now, and have been trying to figure out where the psi needs to be. all of this uncertainty and testing has led to the overall experience being a huge mix of "wow that's awesome" and "wow that's scary!"

Do you need to calibrate the board after the WTF rails?

Yes. It’s super easy. Probably took 2 min. Theres a bunch a videos on it.

I got the 4 mm. No issues so far. Board engages and disengages like normal.

I tried it all. I don’t wanna sound like a softy but that’s how they kinda made me feel. Like I have little hand syndrome 🤣 heat gun, microwave, probably boiled em 3 times. I do still have them so I will try again on the next tire change.

@@therealbergexperience5640Dude I feel the frustration. I struggled hard. But in the end, I just kept adding more and more heat until I got them on. If you can touch them with your bare hands they're probably still not hot enough. Boil them and use gloves to put them on. If you ride only road you prob don't need them anyway.
