Glad to see you gave an honest review and called a hunk of junk a hunk of junk. The vast majority of KZbinrs who get a product given to them by a manufacturer will give positive reviews to get more free stuff, which is why most can't be trusted for an honest review. So, thank you for giving a genuine opinion.

I think it looks really promising as a bivvy tent plus. LOVE that you can open/shut a window from within, I hate how blind to the world I feel in most tents. I think your concerns about wind are a bit...overblown! That said I haven't tried it myself yet and appreciate your review. I love OneWinds creativity and willingness to think outside the current fads. Not all experiments succeed of course and the jury is out on this one, but again I see a lot of promise here.

not a chance...thanks for your honest opinion on this tent.....here in the States this tent costs 170.00USD....... Walmart offer alot better tents for alot less money built better ....One wind definitely didnt think this one thru to well !!! ...... I also think they hurt their reputation with this one too !!! .... I own several of their products and love them !......I'm 65 and have bought alot of gear in my life and this one is definitely on my radar without some major reform to make it a 3 season tent .......thanks for all you do my Friend !!

You shouldn’t apologise for providing your legitimate, honest and knowledgeable review mate. Stop apologising!! They sent it to you for an honest review. You did that. It’s definitely not a 4 season. 2 at best. A lot of these companies try to be everything to everybody, rather than doing fewer products well. I’ll wait till I see your camp using it…on a windy, rainy night. (Just set up a decent tent beside it if you need to move into that)…

Thanks for sharing, neat to see new ideas for gear. Nothing wrong with giving your honest opinion brother. I think Dan you may just be missing the point of the concept! This is a very adaptable tarp style "bivvy" tent, with many different setup options. As far as the 4 Seasons branding, it could be used in snow and rain, if you had used the tie-off points on the sides to make the structure more stable under windy conditions. The vent flap also has a tie-off point to pull it away from the main body of the tent. The materials used look very durable, considering they are promoting this as a cheap backpacking trekking pole tent. Each to their own I suppose!

@lingerslongest 6 күн бұрын
Yup, get rid of the idea of light-weight summer hiking or camping in the winter mountains; this is for bugging out in the woods all year round. Instead of a tarp (still take a bivvy bag) this can do any set-up : from a discreet "beach shelter" when setting up in daylight, opposite a fire, tarp mode, full tent mode. Almost perfect...they can pick up on some improvements that were highlighted.

Your video's are down to earth. Especially good for people getting this tent. I hate reading instructions, I'm terrible and miss steps as I'm dyslexic. I'd rather watch someone put it all together first and learn from that. Does it need more strings to help with the wind strength or another pole perhaps? Looks ideal from summer, warmer months to me.

Like you said, thinking outside the box and from that perspective it becomes interesting, but from a usability perspective I’m not so sure about this one. I mean the ”shelter” mode you showed, shelter from what? The sun if it’s high in the sky maybe to provide shade? But for rain and wind it looks to minimalistic 😅 Stay safe all 👋🇸🇪

Fair play for an honest review... its ok these companies putting comfort ratings or 4 season on products to shift them but not everyone knows how to weigh up if they're actually up to the job then they take them out into ridiculous conditions and mountain rescue end up having to save ppl... should be a standardised testing for all of these products... end of the day they're potentially safety equipment

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the end vent/window going to catch rain? I think it would dump water inside the tent when you unzip any of the door or window zippers in wet weather. Also, that pocket looks like it will be hanging in your face all night. It does look pretty good for Aussie summer camping, but I don't think I'd want to do an English winter camp in it.

I bivvy and tarp all the time, might go hammack, this seems to be a step up from the hooped bivvy. At 2.6lbs I guess its a low weight hiker aiming for the lanshan 1 and other hiking pole 1 man tent market. I personally like the air vent as its a way to combat condensation, would I go 4 seasons in it, maybe with a tarp over the top or as a wind wall, but defo 2 seasons or 2 seasons+ maybe a 3. In the UK it could probably use except when snow and frost on the ground.

What they're really asking is will you advertise our tent. I don't mind as we do need tents to be showcased by someone. As a bivi tent its a pretty good concept. You also need ventilation in these bivi tents so the air vent at the back is a plus. My main concern is what fabric?. is it cheap or quality?.

It's almost like it was designed by two teams that didn't talk to each other. With all the poles on the head end, you would want that facing into the wind, but then the mesh window not having a cover means that you would want to face that side away from the wind-quite a strange one.

sometimes they claim stuff that makes no sense; I got 2 tipi tents, both claim 4 season hot tents; 1 has snow skirts no chimney outlet the other has a chimney outlet but no snow skirt. Obviously I knew that when I bought them (cheap) and a chimney outlet can be added on anything but still. That window is indeed problematic. Cool 3 season tent though.

The way I see it is that the tent isn't good for UK use except a settled, dry midsummer, if we get one! However, at least It's not a copy and they are trying something new which I like the idea of, though it probably needs a few iterations, or a year or two development, before releasing to the public. I dislike also poles that 'stick out' and are not properly fixed to the floor at both ends. Where do you cook/boil water? There doesn't see to be room for a pack and 'stuff', a view doesn't matter if you're looking into a gale, stupid vent if it can't be shut off and the netting is on the outside, just wrong. Another however, I still use tunnel tents mostly and reckon for space, value and ease of use decent tunnels can't be bettered, though Hilleberg and Kuiu (amongst others) seem to make damn fine four season not tunnel tents ... ;) I don't think this is a tent so much as a large bivvy ... More work, extend the poles might help .. ;)
