Since I'm a Cathay member, I can able to achieve Oneworld Ruby, Oneworld Sapphire, and Oneworld Emerald with Cathay Silver, Cathay Gold, and Cathay Diamond, respectively.

Good video. I have OneWorld Ruby due to my MVP status with Alaska. When I fly with Alaska, I get upgraded to 1st class about 50% of the time, but when I fly American, I never get upgraded. I wonder why that it. Are there just that many AA members with status? Is it the routes or does American allow people to pay cash for upgrades whereas it is rare for Alaska to allow people to pay for 1st class upgrades after booking.

Basically access to any first class doesn't exist if you are not carrying first class ticket or at least business class full fare paid ticket which has nothing to do with emerald or any status. Why oneworld allowed certain airlines to use other lounges and not the opposite thing.. Deal or no deal ... The more I keep digging to the benefit , the more I found that there is basically very little is offered
