I am SO glad that the Magnum was #1. Back when I was 15 (16 years ago lmfao) my friends and I had a big ass LAN party on x-box for Halo 1 for a friend's birthday. I had practiced finding good places to launch attacks form in various maps and the one that was the most solidly defensible was Beaver Creek's rooftop, with it being moderately difficult to reach unless you knew what you were doing with the only reliable way to take out the person on top with the rocket launcher from the archway, but you were so exposed trying to get up to it that nobody managed to get it. With just the Magnum I was able to completely and utterly dominate the Beaver Creek match, to the point that I was banned from playing on Beaver Creek ever again lmfao

So about the top loading port on the shotgun. The magazine tube is actually above the barrel. The whole thing is “upside down” compared to most shotguns. One dude actually took a left handed Remington flipped upside down and made a functional halo shotgun out of it. So it works it’s just not standard.

The magnum’s bullet is 12.7x40mm, this makes the 50 AE rounds look like midgets. The BR55/BR75 and the MA5B are all chambered in 7.62x51 NATO rounds.

The grenade launcher from Reach was always good for shenanigans, but I'm partial to the SMG. Dual wielding those is a guaranteed way to never get caught with your pants down. Only ever fire one at a time, or stagger both, and there will always be one gun able to fire while the other reloads. I got really good at that back in the Halo 3 days.
