Indian isn't an offensive term it's just a misnomer that stuck. Native American still attributes them to a European naming scheme as it relates to the explorer that made the new world known of among the Mediterranean Europeans. The most accurate thing you could call them to distinguish their heredity is all of their individual tribe names, as they weren't a unified nation. There is no point in worrying what other people might think of you when you use language. The point of language is to speak in terms that the most people can recieve. To communicate an idea. Some native associations call themselves Indian or American Indian associations as do some native individuals. Either way you're speaking the white mans tongue, but in reality most of them just plain don't care about the terminology or race, sins of the past, any of that crap. They did just call people by their first names back when, and they still do. If you called 99% of them an indian to their face, unless you were doing it out of malace, they wouldn't hold it against you IF they even noticed it. Go ask an indian about it. I have, I wanted to be sure. I asked a couple. Answers varied slightly around what I said here. People are just people. Twitter retards get offended on behalf of made up monoliths. Ignore them, don't let them win.
