I’ve had fantasies where they remake Sonic Adventure 1 but just make Big’s levels a first person shooter (like in Duke Nukem 3D) and his guns are all just parodies of actual guns, and they use ammo based on fishing paraphernalia. Like a double barreled shotgun could be a “double baited shotgun,” with fish food as the bullets and the containers as the shells. He could also dual wield Lugers but they would be “ ‘Lure’gers “ and the whole objective of each episode is to kill fish and get to froggy. I feel like something super bombastic and crazy like that would work simply because it’s Sonic, and the series has had so much bad press over the years and it’s fandom being cast in a bad light that it might just work out in the end.

The start-up time of the light speed dash does not actually calculate the path or anything. When I used to be obsessed with Sonic as a teen, I did a lot of modding and hacking for this game. For example I re-routed the light speed dash action to the jump cancel so that when you jump cancel in front of rings, Sonic immediately does a light speed dash like in the sequel except since it doesn't clash with the spindash because it's not mapped to the same button, it doesn't mess up and works perfectly. When you lose your rings, you could for example quickly light dash through them in a circle and get them back.
