This is my first in many video's about the OneFinity CNC. This is the very first CNC I have ever owned and operated so I am learning on the fly. I chose to make this series because there are a ton of CNC video's out there but not for the very beginner. Not going to cover bits because, well that horse is about beaten. I am going to post videos on what I learn and hopefully help you along the way.
Cheers,

Great video, beginner CNC learner here... question it seems everytime we try to run a projects it homes somewhere different. How can we fix this? We have the project set to zero in the left corner and start cutting in the middle we are just trying to clear the waste board and can’t seem to do that right 😅
@JkCanvas
@JkCanvas 3 жыл бұрын
Set your start home to the center of the piece. I ran into something similar. Some projects you have to move the home depending on what you are doing. For instance you want to engrave a letter on a board set your home to the center. The. Re home to cut cut out the final shape. Hope this helps.

It would be nice if they would make a return to zero button like they have for home. Trying to use the control pad or the screen to get it back to the set zero position can be a pain to get exact.

Just getting setup and everytime I home the machine it sets the X and Y as the Zero position. So I have greens on all the home indicators and greens on X and Y Toolpaths as well. Only my Z remains yellow. How do I reset that so I can set my own Zero positions for toolpaths?
@JkCanvas
@JkCanvas 3 жыл бұрын
Mine does the same thing. I believe it is yellow because it has to raise to start the cutting. Once it starts it should turn green.

So you zero to the center of what you are planning on cutting? Is that the whole reason behind it? Thanks for the video and help.
@JkCanvas
@JkCanvas 3 жыл бұрын
On this particular cut yes I used the center of the board. The same principle for starting on the lower left corner is the same. The purpose behind the video was not just zeroing the axis’ but to show which buttons to push. Most videos I watched to figure this out was so fast and far away it was hard to understand.

I'm so new at this it's ridiculous! This was a GREAT video for me, BUT, now what? How do you tell it to actually "run" your surfacing file? I did manage to make my Toolpath file (for surfacing) on carbide create. (Yay me!) lol. But now what? BTW, I really like how simple you keep it. There are a LOT of vids out there but some of them go so fast that I can't tell what they're doing. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

The flattening is pretty straightforward. Because it is just taking a thin layer off. Where you get into trouble is trying to make pieces fit together for a project.
@JkCanvas
@JkCanvas 3 жыл бұрын
Great video idea. On surfacing use the bore tool path. Set your surfacing bit and then change your speed to 120 to 150. Send me an email canvas@jkcanvas.net and I will send you my flattening file and gcode.

Is the probe a must??? Or can you zero it without
@JkCanvas

this is great, BUT, what if you don't have a probe, i am having trouble zeroing out the bit to start a project. your saying hitting home once, will zero it out? thats what I am getting from this. good job explaing it BTW, and thanky ou
@JkCanvas

There is the House looking button that is Home. The the button to the left that looks like a fat exclamation point that is your zero. Use a piece of paper to find your Z zero. It should move but you should also feel the bit grabbing the paper.
