Prince Nikitin here is just... ❤️ Ah! 😍 (Though in the novel he is quite different, I won't complain 😀). And I always sympathised with him in the novel - he seemed to be of a noble character, a man of action, actually doing something in life, unlike some (yes, Onegin, I'm looking at you). He loves Tatiana and is proud of her, and I think she recognised this. I always hoped that in time she would be able to love him back...

For both their sake, hopefully, they did. I know what its like to be in both Tatyana and Onegin's shoes. It is a blessing that I have a husband who is aware of what I've been through, and yet unconditionally loves and forgives me for my romantic past. It is not easy to overcome true love when you have rejected it, but it can be done. Tatyana doesn't love her husband, but I'd like to hope she learns to at least respect and honour him. The novel shows that in the end, at least, she did choose to honour him and their marriage - even if it was unwilling on her part. I intend to go through the same.

This was an exquisite movie: not celebrated enough: the acting, the music: a masterpiece. Unfortunately, there aren't many masterpieces in society these days who would resound with it. So sad.

Interesting, would have Onegin felt so overwhelmed with feelings, if he did burn the letter and could never read it again? This letter was with him all these years, yet he never tried to find out what happened to Tatiana, where she is, etc. Why did he keep the letter?

He seemed very nihilistic and disappointed with life when he met her,maybe even depressive. He didn't believe in love by then and wasn't aware of his feelings for her,maybe he has suffered for love before! In short: He didn't know for sure he was in love and just went on with his empty life.He kept her letter maybe out of respect for her honesty and his admiration for it.

He was overwhelmed because she became royalty by marriage. He doesn't care about the country girl, but a princess. I believe he reads the letter again so that he could find a way to persuade her with his words to have an affair with him.
