Its totally depend upon the Service you Join in IES. Generally people Synchronise IES with Railway's. If one thinks of monetary and comfort of life ONGC is better. Working Culture in PSUs are far superior.

other services through ESE comes under central civil services (ccs) for which ccs rules are followed, your parents having pension below 9000, sisters, minor brother , wife , children all come under dependents. You have given a CGHS card which includes unlimited medical benefits in cghs empanneled hospital which includes even big private hospitals

IES railways me karodo ka Tender milta hai. Baithe baithe paisa pahucha k jaate hai log. Bade bade logo se contact hota hai. Gazetted officer ka tag alag se. I think IES RAILWAY is better.

Major difference is IES officer is gazetted officer and PSU's company board level officer as well as Chairman is not gazatted officer.

Financially ONGC is better till 10-12 years of service After going into selection grade in Railway, it's salary will be more than person in ONGC joined at same time. For me 14 days on-off duty was not suitable, i prefer to be available for my parents all time in case of any emergencies (at ONGC if you are offshore then it is very difficult to return home before completing 14 days) Both organisations have their own benefits.

sir, one more point I request to you for add what are the medical benefits after retirement in both organization RAILWAY & ONGC. Because during service people can even afford private medical health insurance if needed but after retirement when an old pension system is not present nowadays and health issues will be more after retirement then which organization provide better health benefit without taking any charges or with taking fewer charges?
