Parathas are so much fun. The key to making a tasty paratha is to do the filling right. So today, I am going to show you a tasty Onion & Tomato Paratha. This goes well with the Curd Dip which is shown in the video.

Ingredients
To Make Dough
Wheat Flour - 2 cups
Carom Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Water
To Make Filling
Oil - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 5 cloves
Onion - 1 no. (finely chopped)
Green Chili - 2 nos. (finely chopped)
Tomato - 2 nos. (finely chopped)
Salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Kashmiri Chili Powder - 2 tsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves
To Make Curd Dip
Curd - 200 ml
Chaat Masala - 1/2 tsp
Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)
Method
For making the Dough:
1. Mix wheat flour, carom seeds, salt and water in a bowl to get the dough.
2. Knead the dough for 10 mins and keep it aside till the filling is ready.
For the Filling:
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, green chilies and onions.
2. Cook for 5 minutes on medium flame and stir regularly till the onions turn transparent .
3. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri chili powder.
4. Cook for few minutes till the mixture becomes dry.
5. Add coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
6. Keep the mixture aside to let it cool down.
For the Parathas:
1. Divide the dough into equal sized dough balls.
2. Flatten the dough balls and place the cooled filling in the center.
3. Fold the flattened dough with the filling into a parcel.
4. Dust with a little flour. Flatten it again and roll it out.
5. Roll out all the dough balls in the same way.
6. Heat a tawa.
7. Place the rolled out parathas onto the hot tawa.
8. Flip the paratha once it is cooked on one side.
9. Add some ghee on the paratha and cook on both the sides till they turn golden color.
10. Serve the Spicy Masala Tomato and Onion Paratha hot.
For the Curd Dip:
1. To a bowl add the curd.
2. Add chaat masala, chili powder, a pinch of salt and some coriander leaves to the curd.
3. Mix well and serve it chilled with the hot parathas.
