These history videos are great at putting modern day changes into perspective. Stops fear mongering.
@wakeupscreaming98836 жыл бұрын
Ok, so the machine replaced about 7 women? How about self-driving vehicles replacing millions of jobs? The economy won't be able to absorb that. And the video states the women would be moved onto "stuffing olives or canning fruit" -- those jobs have probably already been automated with machines as well. Eventually you run out of jobs to fall back onto. Our economic model will eventually have to evolve. There is no fear mongering, it's reality and being pro-active.
@skjoli26496 жыл бұрын
@@wakeupscreaming9883 I wasn't saying that recognising the economy needs to evolve has anything to do with fear mongering. I agree with you that the economy needs to evolve. The NBN could have helped with that...

@@wakeupscreaming9883 considering the average level of education, it's no surprise that unemployment is so high when there are fewer unskilled labor jobs available. US manufacturing has been mostly outsourced and our workers (and by extension the economy itself) are suffering for it. US corporations simply refuse to pay proper wages and taxes, and instead have spent decades bribing politicians to change the laws making it easier and more profitable to manufacture and import from overseas and mexico
