Onion Pie - Grandma's Version

For Christmas my mom made us an onion pie to go along with our roast beef dinner. If you like onions, then you'll love this pie. My mom used a crust recipe that she has been using for at least 30 years. I don't know if my grandma ever wrote down her recipe for onion pie but she did explain how to make it to my mom.
I can remember eating onion pie and roast beef dinner with my grandma at her house from the time I was very young.
I don't think we've ever had this pie with anything other than roast beef dinner. Both are delicious and easy to make.

Onion Pie is a traditional English recipe. My maternal grandmother was from England and my mother grew up on this dish and passed it down to me. Traditionally it also has cheese in it along with the onions. My mom always made it without cheese. If you are a fan of onions, you'll love this. It's best served with beef gravy over the top.

It's called crimping. 😊 Then yes, fluting. Sounds delicious. We had pot roast made in the electric pressure cooker. Also yummy.
