The black bar is where the bluetooth and other communications devices are. Another trick you can do to extend battery power is to detach the audio jack when not in use, that will stop the DAC from using unnecessary power. Another is to put it in airplane mode.

Question. I want a dap for about 400 dollars. Good eq. And good volume power and battery. I got the hiby and fiio and their eq was so bad. That even if I change the 60dz it changed the tone on the 1 k and 3 k. And when I add bass the volume drops 6db. I want something with power. With the eq like the Sony nw a55 that it's really good and above 100mw per channel output. What you recommend

Does anyone know how to add Tidal to the Dp-x1a? It has Android 5.1 but the app says it only works with Android 6.0 or higher.

Has anyone had volume issues with this? I’ve turned it up all the way to the top via Bluetooth headphones and it’s fairly quiet at best

Can't comment on the other players, but I would say it's at least more durable than the original DP-X1. No issue with any of the audio jacks, and the volume dial still works perfectly. On my original DP-X1 the balanced jack is dead and so is the volume dial. I would however say battery life is not great even idling...
