If I check the tyre tread depth at point of collection and find they are under 5 mm, Do I have a right to ask them to replace the tyres or do I have to just accept it?

Once you bought the vehicle and tyres are 4mm nothing much you can do as they still have legal limit and serviceable unless they have cracks developing. Before purchase is best to ask tyre depth for all tyres same would apply for brake discs and pads, last service and timing belt (if has one). Tyre legal limit is 1.6mm in UK. Once you will buy the vehicle all basic maintenance what not been checked by you at the time of sale would be past to you in general. Best option is to inspect the vehicle before purchase if not sure anything what is not found right can be rectified before the purchase or negotiated.

@@melgrant7404 Vehicle have to in satisfactory condition. Not everything i covered by the warranty as its a used vehicle but main powertrain items mechanical electrical have to be. Always check with sellers warranty terms as it varies as new car warranty by manufacturer.

Is it something wrong if a vehicle passed MOT twice, or even more, within a year? Any reasons?

Would check with seller first. Most of the times sellers sell with fresh mot. Possibly sold several times and repeated cycle or somebody didn’t trust sellers mot station. Or can be insurance write off too. Best to check individual situation separately.
