It seems to me there are three, not two, additional notes at the beginning of the scale: Do Re Tee, and then Do Re Me Fah So follows? Also I picked up a copy of Ivan Galamian scales exercises and they begin Do Me Re then Do Re Me Fah So. I prefer your version, but it is slightly different, Yes?

A simple suggestion: start with a simpler scale such as G major as a first lesson so you don't scare away those who are truly new at this.
