A couple of people have had issues with the discount code, so the tech team at OMA created a new one: STYLESTUMBLER$100OFF I hope this helps! ❤

@@Decc98 I would assume so, but I think you'd probably have to try it out on the check-out page.

Great review. I think many in our grandparents generation had some sort of makeup teaching for “the everyday woman” and that went away. My mother’s generation booked short reviews at the department store counters occasionally. Now in my generation we just end up buying vast amounts of tools without the guided skill. I’ve wondered if there was an option for personal application. Thanks for reviewing the course.
@TheStyleStumbler9 ай бұрын
Thank you, Jessa! Yes! We get very excited about the tools nowadays, but sometimes our zeal for shopping exceeds our knowledge quite a bit. Following KZbin tutorials has really helped me build my skills, and I have a feeling that's enough for most people. But nothing beats getting feedback from an encouraging expert.

I remember doing a lot of department store counter classes and makeovers and they do seem less common. My local Ulta hosts brands doing this sometimes .

Hi there 👋🏽. I enjoyed your review and the questions you sought to answer and, of course, the answers. I recently graduated from the academy, and I agree with you on all points. It was WORK. I learned a lot from the lessons as well as Yzabella. It was an amazing experience and one that I'm continuing to learn from. Thank you for this review.

Hello Stephanie , I only recently found your chanel. I enjoy watching your reviews. This is yet another great article. You truly do look amazing, your makeup is heavenly, but you are beautiful to start with. Congratulations on starting the course. I hope you continue to enjoy your new challenge. It actually looks very comprehensive and good quality. I studied beauty therapy as a youngster, but on finishing I went into academia where my heart truly belonged. I also studied perfumery including the chemical side of things. I am well into my 50s now but still enjoy making the most of myself and I think I would enjoy this Makeup Academy course. I'm currently house bound for health reasons but on the plus side I have all the time in the world to study. I also have (like all of us do) lots of lovely makeup that is crying out to be used more expertly than I have been doing. Makeup is so much better quality nowadays. I remember how dry and chalky eyeshadows used to be. They dry panned after a couple of uses and we would be scratching at the surface with our little steal spatulas. Their were no decent highlighter products then either. We used eyeshadow and blush. It was okay on youngsters but making up more mature ladies was not so easy with the then available formulas.

It's nice to meet you, Verena. It sounds like you've learned so many interesting things - that's great! Perfumery sounds like an intriguing topic. I'm glad you've found a plus side to being house bound - health issues can be so draining, so it's truly a gift when one can keep busy focusing on the positive and continue to grow despite the challenges the body presents. Yes, makeup certainly has come a long way. And every year seems to bring new innovations. That keeps things exciting.

This was so interesting and super helpful as I have always wondered if a course like that would be helpful to me! Honestly I've been more tempted to take a course on making video content so I can improve there, but in a similar vein feel like if I have so many free resources would it be worth it to spend money on something like that... still considering!
@TheStyleStumbler9 ай бұрын
I think the free resources out there are more than enough for learning about videography and makeup (that's how I've learned most things). I think the key is keeping ourselves personally accountable when it comes to the details. A personal mentor or teacher makes that easier - but it's not impossible to do it alone.

What a cool opportunity that this company reached out to you! Your makeup has been looking especially beautiful recently, so it’s great to hear and see that the course delivers such wonderful results! It really does look interesting and you’re so right - it’s the very minute details that turn a look from good to great. I’d be so paranoid about having someone judge my makeup that I almost feel like I would get stage fright and mess it up even more than usual. 😂 I would love to know what kinds of looks you had to create. Your smokey eye looked fantastic. Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!
@TheStyleStumbler9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad the differences are becoming visible! I totally understand the "stage fright" response - I had that when I had to submit my first looks! I've been doing my makeup every day for years, but suddenly I got REALLY nervous. 😂 So far I've only done the basic looks: natural makeup, evening makeup, a carbon-black smokey eye, and a red lip. But now I'm getting into the more editorial stuff and it's a real challenge for me! Blue eyeshadow, here I come! 😂 Thanks for always taking time to watch and leave such thoughtful comments, Brittany. It's always lovely to hear from you. ♡

Your complexion looks so good lately!! Besutiful! No offense at all, but why do you say "lurv" instead of "love"? Is it a culture thing, or joke, or maybe slang I am too old for 😂
@TheStyleStumbler9 ай бұрын
Thank you! I say “lurv” as a way to differentiate between a love of people versus love of stuff. So I say that “I love my mother”. But if I really like a lipstick, I say “I lurv this lipstick”. Because I feel like those two things are actually completely different feelings. I don’t know anyone else who does that, so maybe I should explain it at some point. 😂 Thanks for asking!
