This sounds weird but I can tell where my Dog has pain by how hot his muscles feels then I rub the muscle until it’s not hot anymore. I thought I was crazy until I went to my new job and they have a dog and the dog has chronic pain issues. The dog had the same hot spots on his muscles like my dog so when I pet him he almost leads me to the spots that feel hot and asks me to rub them and gets so happy about it the dog is obsessed with me. Cupping was popularized during the Olympics a couple of years ago. There were atlhletes with these dark circles on various muscles, people instantly took notice when seeing it on pictures and found out it was a genuine technique for releasing tension in muscles and loosening the skin from the muscles. That is dry cupping though, what you see here @6:23 is wet cupping. They cut out the part where they scrape the skin before re applying those cups. With dry cupping there is no scraping and the blood is pulled towards the skin, where you can just drink a lot of water to transport it away instead of bleeding :p I can say from experience dry cupping not so bad, I don't know how this would feel. I've been watching some of this videos for years and I thought I can provide some context for some of them: Indian guy in barbershop is Baba. I think he is well know because of the meme. The domino pizza man is Lou Dong. He thinks he has some mystical energy healing powers in his hands because he went to some temple in China. He believes in some sort of master which is consider a cult even in China. He says in his videos that he does "massages" for free because is his mission to help people and teach his tecniques on the internet but the moment the camera turns off he requests 40 to 80 dollars per massage. He has cringy videos where he massages himself with a hammer, a piece of wood and the stairs of his own house. Yes, he massages himself rubbing his feet against the entrance stairs of his house. In other, he massage his wife and she look very unconfortable but she doesnt tell him that he is hurting her more than helping with her back pain. My favorite arc is when police watched this videos in wich some women says they are unconfortable with him touching their but but he doesnt stop. He lost the trial and film himself picking up trash from the streets in his community services hours. He also belives that this energy travels through the internet by massaging the screen of his computer. Trolls hacked his account several times. He now upload old videos with dissable comments. He also have a civil war with white men that doesnt believe in his "teaching" and reject his massages. He gets very anfry about that in some of his old videos The inidian dude massaging the asian guy is Oudin Jaisarie. Nothing to do with the first guy. Proffesional masseuse filming videos to buy a place to stablish a massage therapy bussines. The assian guy orgasming is having tingles because of the heat of the hands, not energy nothing to do with pseudoscience. Is a common technique to relax the patience before making contact. Unfortunately, Oudin passed away in 2018. My favorite ASMR content maker ever. Indian dude using empty cup until the poor guy bleeds is Asim ASMR. Another meme. Real massage therapists and quiropratic people has reacted to his videos and the general consensus is that he will kill someone someday. Lazy masseuse is Brandon Raynor. He is in the full deep of the iceberg of pseudoscience. He is most famous for his energy release techniques. He punches with all his strenght with a chopstick directly in peoples toes. Hes been making videos for quite a while and made a good collection of them starring people screaming in pain and even crying while he punches their feet. The woman at the end is performing a ritual called "limpia". Is very common in Mexico. It cleans bad energies. A lot of people in latin america believe in this.

Wow, I never got a good vibe from Lou Dong. I had no idea there's that much to his story. Brandon Raynor does seem a bit off putting. He categorizes clients as green, yellow or red lights. From what I could tell this correlates to how much the patient trusts him and how much they pull away (even though most of the time it seems really painful). He does seem to acknowledge how much pain they're in, but he has a take it or leave it attitude. He also seems to focus on the tips of the toes and fingers and claims this heals bigger parts of the body, which I've never seen emphasized with any other professional massage therapist.

Numerous videos with him passed million views. After Bob Ross videos of him are considered the first ASMR piece of media. He has one of the first (unintentional) ASMR videos on YT. Sadly he passed away recetly. 2:32 and 11:04 - Luo Dong - another ASMR legend. Basically he is your stereotypical asian scammer. There are literally hundreds of videos of him on YT. He is a tho pervert, when massaging women he always prioritizes the breast, glutes and crotch area for "better energy flow". 6:05 - Asim Barber - indian barber whose gimmick are rough, borderline unpleasant massages. 8:22 - Oudin Jaisarie - his videos are old and well know in the ASMR world, sadly he passed away. In my opinion all "energy" therapies work as long as the reciever believes in them. 12:17 - Brandon Raynor - Brandon is teaching (scamming) people in New Zealand on manual therapy. As a physiotherapist I can confirm his methods are downright harmful. He never adjust the pressure in his "massages", he sticks chopstick inbetween bones in order to "loosen up the ligaments", he also believes the reason joints are stiff is because crystals are forming inside them and he think that finger and toe joints should move sideways. I would never get a massage from him even, if someone would pay me ... but his videos make for decent ASMR. 13:21 - Elliot Hustle (Streangth Camp) - Only veterans in the fitness part of YT remember him. One of the first fitness youtubers (even before the term was coined). He used to give genuine lifting and life advice among the dozens of scammers and frat boys at the time. One day something clicked in his brain and he went full on with his "bionenergetic" stuff. Started mixing it into his fitness videos and eventually focus entirely on it. He became the laughing stock and a meme in the fitness community.
