They either need to remove the time penalty for fainting, or pause the timer when things such as terastillizing happens or when you're just sitting there waiting for animations to finish. I've lost so many games because the timer ran out due to having to wait for things like the shield breaking animation, tera animation, "The boss is about to unleash its power" animation, and just the input lag between everyone. Tera Raids just aren't fun

Add to this there seems to be times the opponent gets like 5 moves in one turn. Clearing your side, wiping your stat buffs, wiping there stat nerfs, putting a shield up then gathering energy all in one turn. Its like playing yugioh against a meta deck player. Add to that your stat buffs dont carry over after you come out so you have to set up AGAIN. I love this games single player but its multiplayer is not great.

The fact that it's still broken sucks so much. Like I lost in a raid against Mimikyu because it just kept spamming moves and kept taking tera energy.. like I didn't even get a chance to hit it much before it kicked me out.

I stopped hosting my 6 star raids a few days ago because of how dumb a lot of people can be joining them. I had a 6 star normal type Sylveon with it's hidden ability and everyone who joined kept wanting to bring Iron Hands a Pokemon who is weak to fairy moves. I also don't know if this was a bug or not but the raid Pokemon didn't need to wait to recharge it's Hyper Beam and because of it's hidden ability that Hyper Beam was super effective against Iron Hands. So this is what happened every time Iron Hands uses Belly Drum then gets knocked out by a Fairy Type Hyper Beam or Sylveon outspeeds Iron Hands forcing it to skip a turn because the damage is so much that it doesn't allow Iron Hands to use Belly Drum.

They've made it so tera raid bosses don't recharge after using moves such as hyper beam and on top of that they also have unlimited pp. Definitely think they should at least at pp to rechargeable moves because Glimmora constantly uses hyper beam too. And that's unfortunate to hear man it doesn't sound like a good experience at all.

@@defoaqua That explains why it I never seen the raid Pokemon run out of PP during a raid. Yeah when it comes to moves like there should be something done to stop a raid Pokemon from spamming it like they do. Also yeah it wasn't fun at all finally was able to beat the raid that day when I decided to just solo it with a Tinkaton using Swords Dance and Break Break. Wish people who join raids like this would think about the moves a Pokemon has and if it is a good idea or bad idea to lock in Pokemon that aren't helpful. I swear it is like almost every time I turn around there is always that 1 person or in worse cases all 3 who join locks in Iron Hands or Azumarill without thinking about it first.

Yeah some people are really dumb. I recently did a 6 star Heracross raid and some idiot chose to lock in Kingambit despite being 4x weak to Heracross. Also, it's sad that we are 8 months since S/V came out and some people still don't know how Terrastalizing works.

Oh my God thank you. I recently did an Alolan Ninetales Fire Tera Raid and some idiot brought a Metagross and only spammed Meteor Mash.

The thing that annoys me most (outside of the awful lobby system and waiting to refresh it) is that raids are simultaneously timed but also determined to waste that limited time. Connection issues, critical hits, overly long move/tera animations, stat penalties and healing being applied one pokemon at a time rather than as a batch. The whole thing feels like you're being punished for engaging with the content. There is absolutely no reason why the player's inputs should be consumed or negated by these events. We should be able to simply queue up our next attack regardless of what is going on and wait for it to happen.

I would say at the very least, all the nonsense ways where your turn is skipped or the timer just gets to go on with no input from you need to be cleaned up.

i honestly have begun to hate the pokemon company more and more as i grow older, the blatant, give us your money for shit and i cant even complain BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE WHAT WE SAY Pokemon go is a prime example!!

Makes me miss sword and shield raids. I like dynamax/gigantamax a lot and it felt really special when shiny Zeraora levels or difficulty showed up and everyone was working together to figure strategy to take it down Now everything is shiny Zeraora or worse and the most strategy I see is boosting your stats to cheese it in one hit. Everything online feels next to impossible and made me look like an idiot for thinking real time battles were a cool idea.

I had a Milotic 5 star raid with the posion tera type having raindance,surf a dragon move i can't remember and another move having the competitive ability. For some reason i keep getting kicked out despite having strong pokemon because the timer goes faster than usual at some point once it has the shield thing. Every time i attack it it barely does damage as well doesn't matter which pokemon i put in there. And i keep getting people who use pokemon with moves that are either bad against it and when i actually get people with good pokemon, the moment it almost gets defeated it kickes us out because some people don't terastalize the moment it gets the shield thing. I also had lag once in a while.

Remove the time penalty from fainting, make the stat refreshers less often, and make the tera absorbing stuff nonexistent. That's literally all they would need to do make it playable but also a challenge and not an instant lose when paired with casual/unexperienced players.

When the boss removes all your status effects thats the biggest annoyance for me … the timer is ok to me its only annoying when idiots join with the wrong /unbuilt monster

I think game freak forgot that most of its players are casuals that can’t be bothered to raise perfect Pokémon’s. Heck most don’t bring the right counter type. Also add the bad UI for online Tera raids and connection issues results in a very bad experience

Yeah I agree I used to breed Pokemon back in sword and shield since the X and y days now I just mint and hyper train Couse its the same thing but less time but some people can't even be bothered to hyper train and mint so if you playing with some with a Pokemon they caught and its got it default IVs and no EVs your basically down a player

Iron Hands and Azumarill are barely even the solution andim tired of 1 trick ponies constantly pretending it is. Especially if you're running Belly Drum.

Most players are just dumb. Most of the tera mons are physical attackers so I created a tera Fairy Golduck with max ev's on HP and Defense. It carries leftovers and spams chilling water. If the tera mon has a pesky ability, I skill swap it because Cloud 9 sucks. If they buff too much, I clear smog them. My trusty Golduck has carried so many raids by simply being a support beast. I created it just to counter the physical dragons but it has ended up being a very good physical support mon. For Special support, I have my Gardevior with light screen, mystical fire, life dew, and dazzling gleam. She's a support beast too.

I mean online Tera raids are a pain to deal with. I did callouts to signal that I need healing but they kept attacking, that’s why I don’t play with randoms anymore, they give me a hard time when I need exp candies and stuff.

Nothing like entering a group Raid Battle knowing that it's a 90% chance that you're going to lose especially when you really want this legendary or Pokemon in the six or seven star raid and you can't get it at a lower star or encounter

I'm a Casual Gamer on Pokemon and I really don't like this system I really just want to do it myself without having to look up strategies and figure out stuff I just want to battle with my regular team and not have to just find some Pokemon that I'm just going to use for this one thing and not use again what's the fun in that

I can pretty mucch set up and one shot raids solo but online I cant set up fast enough or I am half way done and they bring its shield up cancelling my set up.

As someone who plays Tera Raids more than most people, I can say that they are one the worst aspects of the entire game. Some of the things that you didn't mention is that sometimes during a tera raid, if it needs to render the Tera mon's shields going up, it will act like your turn didn't happen even if you selected a move. This can be really annoying if you are using something like Belly Drum Iron Hands, you don't get the health back that you would normally get your health back from Shell Bell and/or Drain Punch, meaning that you have to waste another turn heal chanting in order to get a fraction of that health back. Also, sometimes the Tera mon can hit you 2-3 times without you being able to do anything or set up and then attack you on top of that. Plus, some mons use shit like counter and morror coat just because they can. And you are absolutely spot on the competence of some tera raid players. The amount of players who bring in mons that are 2x or even 4x weak to the tera mon or bring frail mons like Greninja and Meowscarada is infuriating and the so many times where I will not faint at all and lose because my teammates suck. Don't even get me started on if the tera mon has Moxie as for some reason, it gives the boost for every single player that dies, meaning that I get punished for my teammates dying. I really hope that they add something equivalent to the Dynamax Soup for Herba Mystica in the DLC because I hate that Tera Raids are the only way to farm these things.

All I have to say is that I hope all those involved in designing Tera Raids step barefoot on LEGO blocks. I'd wish for worse, but that's against TOS.

I hate them so much its such a waste of time. Terra is done really poorly giving a random terra type to a pokemon when the terra type should be at least between the 1 or 2 types that pokemon is so it just sits there and i never use it i dont feel like using terra shards there stupid

Allso not everyone breeds or hyper train and mint they Pokemon meaning if some one brings a Garbo mon with no perfect or hyper train IVs your gonna have a harder time and if they have a bad move list allso your screwed

What i dislike (in addition to what you have already said) is that most of these raids are like giant puzzles with maybe 3 solutions maximum, some require absurdly bad accuracy moves. I never knew just how bad screech’s accuracy was until raid battles. Then they started having problems with the raids themselves, such as the bad egg glitch and none x 2 glitch happening currently. Seriously game freak your not some indi company your part of one of the most profitable media franchise in history, your up there with disney for God’s sake. Then there is the fact the opponent gets to wipe your stat buffs and there stat nerfs one right after another, this is directly after putting up a shield right after attacking, you pretty much need to understand how the ai code works to stand a chance, also i swear the accuracy for moves of terra-raid pokemon is increased significantly.

This is what people like myself who are in the SMT community would refer to as Shin Megami Tensei BULLSHIT… or SMTBS but hey at least we don’t have to put up with our own teammate’s stupidity… only expection was in SMT IV where the AI might decide to spam fire moves on a boss immune to fire attacks… in a game where if you block, dodge, heal from or reflect an enemy attack there’s a chance you get to dish out FREE CRITS

Eh, debatable. If an NPC's pokemon faints (which their pokemon, most of the time, were pre evolutions, spammed bad moves, or were weak to the boss's typing), you lose a life. This REALLY frustrating because the game punishes you for a mistake you didn't make, and that's the worst feeling ever. Also, having to break multitudes of shields really drags out the battles in my opinion.

Tera raids are fake and misguided anyways one you catch these all mighty tera pokemon that have single handedly held off 4 legendary pokemon by itself whilst being possible 25 levels lower they become no different than any other pokemon in battle terrastilize is no different to z moves they just don't have a fancy name and animation instead they got a crystal party hat and coat like they become cinderella or something it's lame I'd rather no battle gimmick than this charade they brought in its disappointing fake and needs to be forgotten people complain about gmax I didn't particularly like gmax either there was no need for charizard to get yet another form but I'd much rather THAT than THIS crockery fake fake fakeness I hope gen 10 goes back to its roots and gives us nothing like gen 1 times were simpler train battle win
