I just recently took a critical thinking exam and flunked. This video is very helpful. Finally get to understand how its done. Thank you so much!

6:13 it could've been 56 too, bcuz if we take a look of it from the bottom left side and keep moving to the top we see that: 5+2=7 then the numbers are multiplied by 2, 7X2= 14 14X2= 28 therefore, 28X2 = 56

I did the same thing, that’s the thing I don’t like about these tests. There’s always multiple possible answers that have valid reasoning behind them.
@adrianhelerea420 Жыл бұрын
For question 1, I utilized a diagonal approach. Initially, I added the first two numbers in the sequence, which resulted in a sum of 15 + 22 = 37. Subsequently, I performed subtraction with the third number, deducting 5 from the previous total, which yielded the correct answer, 37 - 5 = 22. This method allowed me to determine the value of the fourth number effectively.

Why would you think to do that? I never occured to me that the pattern would be diagonal pairs.

1:55, add top left corners that is 15+22 = 37, top right corners 11+13 =24, bottom right corners 5+32 = 37, then bottom left corners 23+?=24. Answer: 1

I got the right answer for #1 using a completely different method. I related the numbers to each other and found the differences. example 15-11= (top) 4; (right) 21 ; (bottom) 9; (left) 8. then I saw the difference between the middle numbers & recognized their on opposite sides. 22-13 = (top) 9; 13-5= (right) 8. so if you flip 21 to left, and 4 to bottom you will be left with 1.

I also come up with the same answer 0 however I have a different pattern. I add numbers with the same color like 1+2+4 = 7, 5+3+0=8, and 2+3+4=9 which makes it an arithmetic sequence

I solved question 1 by another way 15+22 = 37, 32+5=37 13+11=24, 23+?=would be 24 so ans would be 1(24-23)

11+4=15 15+8=23 23+9=32 So the change in number from smallest to largest number moving counter lock 4,8,9 5+8=13 13+9=22 So x+4=5 So answer is 1

For question 1: I did the difference between opposite numbers for larger square which is 4 and 9 so I figured the difference for the smaller square should also be 4 and 9. And I got 1 as the answer too.

The pyramid problem actually has two correct solutions possible. Increasing 1 gives you (4+5+1=10). Double that on the next layer (10+12=22+2=24). Double the increment on the top layer and you'll get (24+28+4=56) making B also logically correct!

I solved all except the one with these 3 collums. But I had much more time to solve it than 5 up to 10 seconds. This is hard but I hope with more experience I will be able to feel much comfitable with it and finally pass a test for MBA.

i did the first one differently and came to the same answer: 1. how did I do it? notice the difference between the top two numbers accross from each other. you should see 15 and 11. -4 is what gets you from 15 to 11. now look at the bottom 2 numbers. you should see 23 and 32. going clockwise, to get from 32 to 23 you need -9. keep these two numbers in mind, -4 and -9. now, notice that in the smaller box, also going clockwise, in order to get from 5 to 1 you need -4. heres how i figured out the puzzle. directly opposite from -4 in the smaller box was -4 in the bigger box. both 1 and 5, and 15 and 11, both as pairs, needed a negative four. then i noticed the 22 and 13. just like 32 and 23 needed a -9, the 22 and 13 did as well, but like the -4, it was going in an opposite direction as the smaller box. so -9 was like a mirror to -9 on the opposite side. this method works the same using +21 and -8 on the veritcle ends of both squares, just switch directions and you'll see that 23 and 15 reach a difference of 8, and on the opposite end of the smaller square, 13 and 5 also give us 8. 21 is the difference between 11 and 32, and on the opposite end of the smaller square, 21 can only be the difference of 22 and..... bam. 1. thats how i knew A was the answer. hope this helped!

I did similar thing. First, I noticed that the bigger square upper operation was 15-11= 4, and the lower one 23+9= 32. Then I realized the absolute values were the same in both squares operations, but the location and symbols were the opposite (it made sense to me, cause if we invert the absolute values locations, then we must also invert the symbols HAHA fr). So, if we do the opposing operation in the little square, the upper one is 22-9= 13, so the lower one "?" + 4= 5. The answer is 1! Funny thing is I NEVER NOTICED the pattern mentioned in the video, and also didn't notice our method worked both horizontally and vertically. Do you think this exercise was designed with multiple answers on purpose?
