@@amr1t_ here’s a cool tip in reference this the hairpin, if you keep it pinned while ripping the e brake you can actually pull the car out of a dead slide. I use this an insane amount of times to save car if past 90 degrees. Also if your in a hair pin and are having bad understeer ripping the e brake and throttle at same time and you will be able to rotate your car on the spot. ( rear wheels locked up front keep spinning) 😀

I once did that in a gt7 license course, dont remember if i got gold or not And the game even let my wall tap slide, after a reverse entry at 220kmh in snow it just said fuck it, who am i to fail him over a cracked rear bumper

You got it dude! Just go into at about 80% of your driving ability and you should get it under 7 mins. Smooth is fast I just exaggerated my driving to make the video more interesting to watch ☺️

I unfortunately crashed out in two spots as I hadn’t got that far in the stage. I like achieved this with a keyboard, and somehow my Impreza, whose suspension at that point were almost akin to leaf-spring tightness managed to clinch this challenge in 800ths of a seconds away from 7 minutes. I had multiple attempts with the wheel with my optimal setup, but even then the rigid Impreza with keyboard managed to win me that challenge... Madness bruh

I did this challenge on a controller which is easy even without assists once you've learned the stage, but on a wheel that's a lot more effort to put into.

Yep definitely agree with that I first played this game years ago and was on controller (have been on wheel 8 months now) And I was definitely more consistent on it as I found I could typically correct a spin much faster. But on wheel it’s a bit more smoother I find but you just need to pay attention to how the force feed backs is and be ready to correct if that makes sense. In any case very fun stage this one hope you liked the vid 😀

Have to say I took up this challenge a few days ago; I really disliked the high speed stages in VR so far, rarely drive any modern 4WD in the game anyway, and wanted to try this for a change. My own best time at the beginning was like 40 seconds off - quite disheartening, but I took track of the individual sectors between all the failed attempts, focussed on the ones that were worst compared to yours, and pretty soon my personal bests added up to much closer to 7:00. I learned a lot about high speed driving like that, and even setting up the car different to my normal setup-route (really hard springs, no anti roll bars, and quite a lot of camber). Once I went off the "full gas everywhere" initial idea, it went a whole lot better - I swear it's faster to let go before some of those crests! Got the achievement with a 6:58, then did a 6:57 immediately after yesterday and I know there is still a lot of room for improvement there. Next step is using the h-shifter. Thanks for the motivation!

Ok, second try of doing it with the H-shifter, went about one second slower than my sequential even though I missed about seven shifts. I have to wonder, it seems like I was gaining on my own ghost a whole lot on the straights (identical setup) even though I was usually having more trouble getting good clean corner exits (missed a downshift somewhere) - is there some sort of internal benefit in DR2 to driving stick? I mean, it pleases me to think my manual shifting is just faster than that of the sim's, but I guess that's not really what's going on...

I find breaking it up into sections to work great also it’s typically how I do my sight in runs to learn some entrys or how much I need to slide after a corner to be able to make the next one. And interesting take on the h pattern there also I haven’t used it yet as I’ve really been learning e brake timing. But it’s the next thing for me to learn now as it looks crazy fun !!!! Have been at it for the last days, always about an hour in the evening - beat my record with the H-shifter and I'm now at 6:52.1, using the H-shifter, which I love - that slightly worrying feeling of going towards that first long straight in this course, it's getting even more thrilling if you're doing that not with the calm mindset of pulling on a pedal or a sequential, but really smashing through those gears like you mean it... If I really start pushing I keep crashing in places I haven't even considered as crashable, but I figure if I get a clean run in at my current skill level, I'll be sub 6:50 - which I guess isn't bad for an unsporty bloke in his 40s :)

Keep up the practice, it'll become second nature and it's so rewarding in itself when you get that one-handed-drift-while-shifting to go smooth and quick, or realize "man, did I just brake from 6th to that hairpin, entering every gear with a nice blip, still maintained good braking pressure to make the corner but didn't brake too early, and didn't even think about it..." It's awesome how much enjoyment we can get out of that game after all this time. Thanks for the push, I needed it!

I drive a '95 Impreza myself, not competitively, but it's a dream come true either way! I just got this achievement on PC (using a controller) like 2 days ago. Took me many play sessions throughout the day , but I jump from a 7:53 to 7:51 to 7:30ish to 7:03 to 6:53 on my last run. You just have to do a run with no glaring mistakes and you're set. I made one big mistake (veered off the track completely on a 1-right) but I still got under 7 mins lol

Made it to the end haha It’s not to bad but if you really are on the pace it’s a little wild in some spots lol The first stack was sneaky how the track drops away and the 2nd WOW HAHAHA. That call out was waaaay too late lol (first time going through). Took me about an hour or just over I’d say but I had only gotten to just after the first crash so last qaurter of the track I was just going off call outs. And Ofcourse dude! We all have to help each other and I have no issues with that! If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have had or known about the video idea so thanks again! I wonder if I could look through and find similar achievements in eawrc….

@@nicolbraaaa ea wrc has few achievements and they are not very interesting. in rally 2.0 there is also such a rare achievement associated with a time trial on a rally cross class car. Launch Event Complete a lap in under 39 seconds at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, in a 2019 RX Supercar

@@nicolbraaaa if you want to get the achievement in rallycross, do not repeat my mistake, I got it when I started playing dirt rally 2.0, tried to get it from the start of the 1st lap and I almost succeeded, I was short of 0.05 seconds to reach the goal xD it is better to do it from the start of the second lap, you will have more speed

Oh man I used to play the shit of that stage on the older Suburus trying to beat the Colin Mcrae Challenges on Master level. Truly difficult to do. My skill has progressed quite a bit since then but I still have my doubts. I haven't played DR 2.0 for ages though as I much prefer the physics of WRC.

@@Caldwing i recently drove it in the legacy rs and managed to be 10 seconds faster then this run 🤣 I have only played wrc9 and was on the fence, the handling model is vastly different and I found myself usually on hairpins the car just free reving or Atleast it felt that way before it gripped up and took off. What would your recommendation be for the best wrc game? I also play ea sports wrc and really enjoy it ! Also how amazing is this car a stage combo !!

And flipping it my recording software causes bugs (loses cam input) lol streamlabs. I just might have to try this challenge. I have been racing with wheel since I was about 10 years old (am 28 now), so this should definitely be easier on wheel VS controller… but I have never liked rally as much as track driving, I did start from F1 2006 game after all. Besides that, I’d like to know… do you, or anyone else reading this, know of a handbrake and a sequential shifter for the Logitech G29? I have the H-pattern shifter only currently, and sometimes use it as a handbrake… I have thought of turning it into a sequential shifter with rubberbands, but never actually tried doing it.

I over accentuate the corners just for fun but it does cost a lot of time lol. G29 I know the rubber band method works I have recommended it and there’s tonnes of vids showing how to do it on here. As for e brake I did a quick google for you one called a T500 FANATECOSW appears to be compatible but maybe jump into some reddit forums to make sure or to see what others have used.

@@Jimmyzation thank you mate ! I convert to image to 4K even tho I’m on console so I’m happy it looks and sounds clean !. Yes I have it flipped as the length of the cable of cam is maxed and I cannot run it using its proper orientation lol. I tried a cable extension but it’s does not give enough signal using it so it won’t pick up the cam. I also flip it in my streaming software but it causes it to glitch out and every time I jump back into the app my camera has been deleted lol. This this is my only option for now. Will be moving my gear around to counter act it all soon 😀

I've run this track quite a couple times already and can't understand how people keep their car, full throttle, under control during the last part of the run... So many jumps continuously with so many small changes in direction is a recipe for crashes.

@@banaantjexx164 absolutely For more precise and a faster time it’s best to modulate the throttle over bumps, jumps and crests etc. For me I drove this way only cause I find it fun to be on the limit and it can create some pretty cool parts where I’m sideways into sections where most people would be straight etc. Just a fun way to drive. Though I use your method only in Rwd. Awd I’m a bit of a hoon (slow hoon) 🤣

I drove this in a way to show case my Drifty and loose style but if driven smooth you will 100% get it ! I have a ffb settings video for this game too if that helps but if not just have fun ! A few times there you have to be ready for a corner that’s after the corner so thinking to corners ahead sorta thing. If you have driven the rally of Finland it’s kind of like that tho Finland is insane ! Haha

I use stream labs and have flipped it before, but for some reason the next time I stream it’s either gone back to how it was or loses the cam signal entirely 😓 This is version 1 of my sim setup and layout, in the new year I’ll be moving things around so I have a new back drop and positions for everything to make life easier. ( setup all the sim stuff quick just to play) 🤣

flatout is really not that hard for 90% of the "maps", its just time consuming af but there are the few really hard ones which are quite fun

@@nicolbraaaa it's for completing every scenario in the Colin McRae DLC on very hard difficulty. There are up to 5 stages per scenario, and 40 scenarios. If you can get pedal to the metal then it's definitely possible, just takes aages to do it!

@@clony_austria not to sure what you mean with that? In the description dirt rally 2.0 are the first words and are also the first words I speak at the start of the video. If you are meaning hashtags it is just to push it to the proper audience as the amount of people you play rally games is very small and niche so it’s best to push it as much as you can to hit and trigger the algorithm. (Which has worked)

@ThePower1037 cam is flipped, unfortunately with how my setup is configured I don’t have enough cable length to run it correctly. Was unable to run cable extension as it doesn’t send a strong enough signal to pic up the cam. And finally when I flip it around in my recording software it either resets each time I go into it or loses the cam entirely and have to set it up again lol. Will be fixing all this when I move the setup around in the new year lol

Yes achivements badges can be rewarding and fun, but only when they are difficult to achive, when you get achivement badges for completing a stage without damage or for simply choosing some car and track combo and completing it, things like that. it devalues the feeling and i don't really care for them anymore so they go unnoticed until someone points them out or asks, my best achivements are my own, built and awarded in my head. A world Top5 or even a top10 stage time doesn't need no badge with it 😎🏁 Happy days, have a good one!

You Were technically cheating because the car that you were using has a H pattern gear box and you were using a sequential gear box. But still a nice achievement
